Went here last night with my husband for the first time, initially we booked a table then my husband felt a little awkward when we arrived and changed his mind. We ordered chicken pad thai, pork pad curry, fried squid and 4 spring rolls.
Chicken pad thai was so dry & had no flavors 😩 couldn't finish it and the noodles were a bit under cooked. Only found 4 pieces of chicken as well. Husband's curry was dull too. Only counted about 4 pieces of crispy pork and it was not crispy! The 4 spring roles were tiny totally not worth $12 and $15 something if dine in.
Never going back again. Personally they should display a sign or pre warn customers that if they dine in it cost more than taking food away. When I asked the waiter if they should display a sign stating the dine in fee she didn't respond 🙄
I've gone to every othet thai stores in hastings napier and havelock pad thai is divine! Compared to your menu. Same as spring rolls. Many would agree compared to the other...
Read moreBooked a table, arrived on time to our table not ready, was not offered water or glasses and had to get up to get our own wine glasses, starters took an hour to arrive to the table. Starters were okay, mussels with cheese was an unexpected and interesting combination…… unfortunately did not say anything about cheese on the menu and was unsuitable for the dairy free side of our table who had ordered it. table was not reset for mains and ended up waiting another 45 minutes for main meals to arrive, had to get up again to ask for forks. water was still not brought to the table and had to get up to ask for it. Main meals were okay, pad Thai noodles were underdone and chicken was overdone, crispy pork Curry was okay, aside from the crispy part (pork was soggy). Rice could have been used to build a house. Had plenty of leftovers but did not have the want to bring home. Was a shame as have visited before and both meals and service was a lot better… what happened?! Best part of the night was the wine...
Read moreWow 🤩 what a brilliant, fantastic , awesome restaurant ! My partner & I attended last Tuesday night & were so impressed we returned on Wednesday night for another succulent Thai meal . Mrs had the green curry with tofu n veg /rice / pad Thai noodles . We shared the totally delicious spring rolls and I had the black pepper beef n rice & backed up with garlic prawns with veg n rice the next night. The Tiger beer on tap was purely superb in the 500ml steins. The vibe is very eclectic within the restaurant and there are plenty of quirky historical items on display that match the tasteful decor throughout . The waitresses were excellent and really made us feel welcome, therefore I truly love this wonderful restaurant and the cool music they play from the 50’s -70’s we heard on both nights . I will return to Napier one day from Australia & the Thai Hutt Restaurant will be on top of the list . Thoroughly enjoyed 🙏
P.S please note we ate very late in the evenings hence less people...
