Easter Saturday evening: earlier in the day we had booked a table. Arrived in good time for our booking to find a large queue in which, despite having a booking, we were told to take our place. After realising that we would be waiting a long time I went to the front of the queue where one staff member was attending to a group who had walked in off the street. She was trying to find them a table, take their money, serve them with drinks, deal with interruptions from other staff, while the queue behind them kept growing, presumably with a mixture of people off the street and people with bookings. I waited for her to attend to this group then told her we had a booking. She could find no record of this (despite me having received a confirmation e mail). Having observed the shambles that had been created by there being only one staff member to do about 3 jobs I decided we would not take our booking (were it ever to be found). When I politely told the woman this she was rude to me but who can blame her; she was obviously very stressed with trying to do the impossible. my wife and went down for a drink on Friday evening around 7pm . we both belong to Taupo cosi club and are members she took her card and i Left mine in the motel .We were not greeted at the entrance and proceeded to the bar and ordered a drink ,well the young girl behind the bar had a rude manner . she ask to see our cards my wife showed hers and i said mine was in the motel ...Well she would not serve me a drink and would only sell it to my wife as she had her card . we explained the we are both current members of Taupo and are here for a couple of nights . We found this hard to believe . The sign at the entrance of the RSA says . VISITORS WELCOME . now get this .... according to there rules . IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER YOU CANNOT BY A DRINK AT THE BAR YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE RESTAURANT , AND THEN IF YOU ARE A MEMBER YOU CAN BUY A DRINK BUTT YOU CARNT TAKE YOUR DRINK INTO THE RESTAURANT ?????????? GO FIGURE .really sad how much revenue to you loose by the lack of customer service and NO hospitality , If this is how you treat your visitors to your town im surprised the doors on the RSA aren't closed . Read moreI was disgusted with the customer service and attitude if that REDHEAD lady at the bar. We had a group of 40 family for a quiet 21st dinner. We all wanted to leave the moment we arrived. This womans body language tone and just complete distain was appauling . My sister had an anxiety attack in the toilet because nobody wanted to be there anymore she had stressed about everything going smoothly. Who would say speeches .present the key etc None of that happened because we thought we mite get asked to leave for being disruptive .the whole night was ruined by the absolutely disgusting first impression upon ENTERING and being made t feel like our presence was a serious inconvenience We paid we ate after standing in line for 20minutes then we left. Out of the 40 family members only two who were members werent offended . Thank you redheaded lady and barstaff for ruining a quiet 21st family dinner. On another note thank you kitchen staff.
