A perfect 3 night stay in Napier at the beautiful home of Maree and Mike. In Englush terms, to call it a B & B undervalues it. It is more a superb self contained apartment in a private home.The open plan accommodation, with its tastefully eclectic decor is spacious, with a good sized bathroom and a verandah that has a wonderful view across the bay. We were very warmly welcomed and Mike and Maree could not have been better hosts. A bottle of wine greeted us and by choice, we only touched the surface of the delicious breakfast options. We saw more of Mike as he works from home and had a number of very interesting and informative conversations with him. The city is a mere 5/10 minutes walk away, and the only downside for some, while a bonus for others, might be that it is a steep climb down and up into Napier - a walk that was no problem in the day, but we chose not to do on the 2 damp evenings out of 3 of our stay, when we chose not to drive. Walked down the hill for some dinner and the wee climb uphill home did us both good! Yummy continental breakfast including fruit, cereal, waffles and good coffee.
