Read moreI recently dined at Good George in Napier and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, which set the tone for a delightful evening. The rustic decor and lively ambiance created a vibrant setting that was both comfortable and stylish, earning a solid 4 stars for the overall atmosphere.
To kick things off, I ordered a classic Coca-Cola, which was refreshing and perfectly chilled. It was a great way to start the meal and get into the relaxed vibe of the restaurant.
For my main course, I chose the Scotch steak cooked medium rare, served with crispy fries and a fresh salad. When my meal arrived, I was immediately impressed by the presentation. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, with a rich flavor that truly stood out. Each bite was a testament to the chefâs skill, and I have to say it definitely deserved a full 5-star rating. The fries were equally satisfyingâgolden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. I found myself enjoying every morsel of the dish.
However, I did opt not to touch the salad that accompanied the meal, which wasnât particularly appealing to me. Additionally, there was a mushroom sauce served on the side that wasnât mentioned on the menu. While it may have complemented the steak for some, I chose to skip it as well, focusing instead on the fantastic flavors of the steak itself.
The service throughout my visit was exemplary. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch. They were quick to refill drinks and check in without being intrusive, which made for a smooth and enjoyable meal. This level of service definitely earned a well-deserved 5-star rating.
Overall, Good George exceeded my expectations in terms of food quality and service. The only slight drawback was the salad and the unexpected mushroom sauce, which didnât detract significantly from my overall enjoyment of the meal. If youâre looking for a fantastic steak in a vibrant setting with top-notch service, I highly recommend visiting Good George. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return for another delicious meal...
Read moreCame here with Mums side of the family for my cousin's fifteenth birthday. I ordered the 'Big Boy Burger' and had a Coca Cola to wash it down.
Food: My burger came with two paddys, some bacon and the standard sauces which you would expect to come with a burger. It also came with a generous bowl of chips and a little punnet of sauce. At first I was confused because there was a steak knife served with it, but as soon as I picked it up it all fell apart. Still was a good burger, the sauces were tasty and the actual burger pattys were cooked perfectly, unlike other restaurants where they drip with oil and its just a mess. Buns were nice and crispy with some nice sesame seeds ontop. The bacon was also perfect đ. The chips were alright, sort of fluffy if that makes sense, still tasted nice with the tomato sauce. Also my Coca Cola was nice đ.
My colleagues orderd the 'Scotch Steak' and the Brisket. No complaints from them other than the large amount of salad that came with the steak. Both were cooked to perfection and went down well.
Service: When we first came in, after a breif look at the Good George alcoholic products, we were taken to our table by a lovely waiter. We were brought out food and drinks menus and had to go place our orders up at the bar which I did find strange, but was convenient. Our food came out with in 10 minutes which was nice and fast. We were occasionally checked on by the waiters and which was nice.
Atmosphere: Very flash restaurant. A cool place to come with the family. Music was not too loud, they had a good playlist. The air conditioning unit was very hot for some reason, but It didnt effect my meal too much. Not very busy for a Sunday night which surprised me, but I suppose it had something todo with the time, we stayed here from around 6:40 till 8 ish.
Conclusion: Didnt get any dessert because we were told by our parents that it was too expensive and we could have better stuff at home.
I would have liked to try some of the Good George alcoholic beverages but unfortunately being 16, that would have been...
