Baked by Central Fire Station — Restaurant in Napier

Amazing bakery near the centre of Napier. This spot is adjacent to Central Fire Station Bistro, and seems to allow use of their restaurant seating during the day.

The food is on par with the high quality you’d expect of CFB - exceptional breads and pastries, sophisticated flavours and great coffee. The two women working the morning we visited were very friendly and welcoming.

Would highly recommend the dulce de leche chocolate brownie! Although it’s quite rich and bigger than it looks, so plan to take some home for round two (even if you are a chocoholic like me!). We couldn’t help but grab a sourdough round and sourdough fruit loaf to take home for later.

Baked is hands down the best bakery in town, especially when it comes to sourdough. While other bakeries may craft great bread, Baked consistently delivers perfection.

Their sandwiches are a must-try – each one is packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients and bursting with flavour. You really can't go wrong with any choice.

The pastries and desserts are beautifully presented and look as good as they taste. While I find some a bit on the sweet side, I suspect most Kiwis will appreciate that extra indulgence.

Update (Jan 2025): the new, dark sourdough croissants are godly delicious, crispy and chewy....

Love this place for a great coffee and a treat! The pastries, both savoury and sweet, are always delicious and a really good size. Service is always friendly and the restaurant is beautiful. Such a lovely and cozy spot.

The fresh bread is good too, but just a small feedback since it is displayed right where people walk past and line up to order: It would feel nicer and much more hygienic if it was bagged or kept behind glass instead, not out...
