Brookby Motel — Hotel in North Island

My partner and I spent two nights in Mid June 2025 in Brookby Motel since I wanted to stay close by the hospital.|The other customer reviews were glowing - I was a bit skeptical. I was wrong!||The 1 bedroom apartment was superbly clean, very well appointed. The decor is very pleasant: restful, light, pleasantly decorated. ||The kitchen is well supplied with coffee plunger and sachets of tea, coffee, Milo, and milk, etc Recycling and rubbish is well organised with good information.||The layout works well: there is a sitting-dining area integrated into the kitchen with a spacious bathroom that is also well appointed. Everything spotlessly clean. The feeling is of generosity and high standards of furnishing, fabrics, towels etc.||The host took particular trouble to ensure that some particular needs I have were met. That was especially appreciated.||The users' guide book contains well-organised information about local facilisites snd attractions. What a find!! If you are looking for a lovely place to stay, and they have availability, then just book the Brookby Motel, and you will not be disappointed. If I could give it 6 out of 5, I would.

The chalets are superb! They are clean, roomy, warm, well equipped with quality products and utensils, and extremely comfortable. My wife thought the fluffy towels were just gorgeous. The rooms are fully equipped with all the things you could possibly require on a trip away.

The balcony is a little sun trap, too, and hearing the stream trickling in the background relaxes you instantly.

I suffer from a bad back, and their bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on whilst away from home!

Yvonne and Keith, the proprietors are warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area and places to visit.

In our view, this is a fantastic motel and the best we have stayed at in many a year.

I'm not one to usually write reviews but am moved to do so in this instance by the standard of this motel in terms of both the accommodation and the service it offers. From the making of our reservation through to our check out Keith and Yvonne were the most congenial of hosts and the unit we had was impeccably presented. The location is only a short walk from the town centre and, being away from the traffic was very quiet, allowing full appreciation of the sound of the brook running behind the property. The overall appearance of the grounds and units was very tidy, indicating the pride and care Keith and Judy obviously take in the service they provide.
