The Good:||||Located in a quiet area, two blocks from a park, and a short walk to shopping area.||Less expensive than many other hotels/motels.||||Very friendly, nice, and helpful owner.||||Kitchen area and refrigerator meant we could eat breakfast in our room and save money on food.||||WiFi worked in the early morning and afternoon but seemed to get slow in the evenings when everyone was in their rooms.||||The Rest:||||Looks like it was built in the 1950s or 60s and that it has not been updated since that time.||||Walls of the room were marked and could use a cleaning and a paint job.||||Carpet is worn and threadbare in places and needs to be replaced.||||Bathroom needs to be torn out and replaced - no water pressure, mold growing on the shower curtain, appears to be rot around the area where the shower/tub meets the wall.||||This worked out fine for the four nights that four of us were there, but it definitely took some getting used to, and all of us wore socks all the time rather than going barefoot...

The room was two bedrooms and slept nine with one bathroom (separate toilet). It included a full kitchen with microwave. The walls were painted cinderblock. There was no a/c but fans were available. We were there during summer. It was clean but a bit dingy. The bathroom was OK but the shower was too low for me (I'm 6'3") and only warm water. It was your typical motel experience. Nothing like the hospitality of a...
Read moreArrived here after booking with local info centre. Yes it was a budget booking and we didn't expect a lot for £42.50 however we were pleasantly surprised. The owner ( Yung) was very accommodating and offered us a 2 bedroomed unit. Yes, it is dated and perhaps in need of a makeover. It is |central for access to town centre, just five mins walk. What more could you ask for? We actually booked another night, realising there is plenty to see and do. Would recommend, there's plenty of competition around but we have extra money in our pocket to spend in Rotorau. PS Found a great 'all you can eat' Mongolian style buffet Gengy's just...
