We stayed here for 3 nights in the Harbourside Snug apartment and cannot say enough good things.||The location was perfect for our requirements as we were attending the Leadfoot Festival at Hahei on the Saturday & Sunday. That was only a 10 minute drive away.||Included with the room rate was a great breakfast basket including eggs, bread, butter, fruit and jams. The plunger coffee was great too!||Our little apartment had a separate bedroom (comfy bed), large bathroom, wardrobe with dressing gowns, kitchenette, microwave, fridge and lounge room. We enjoyed watching a couple of New Zealand movies on the DVD player during our stay. There was also a BBQ and table & chairs on the patio outside which had a gorgeous view over to Whitianga.||Included in the bathroom was shampoo, body wash, soap, towels (with heated towel rail), face cloths, make up remover wipes, tissues and hair dryer.||Each night we caught the Whitianga Ferry across to Whitianga for dinner. The Ferry dock is a 3 minute walk from the property and it costs $7 return per adult. At this time of the year it runs every 10 minutes from 7.30am to 11pm.||There is the Cooks Cafe just up the road from the accommodation but it was shut on the Monday morning when we planned to stop there for breakfast as we left the Coromandel. Further along the road is Eggscentric, which we had planned to go to for dinner on the Sunday night but sadly it was closed due to a bereavement.||And last, but not least, our Hosts were really lovely. Super friendly and helpful with information about...
Read moreWe booked both rooms (Harbourside Snug and the Loft) for a family of 4 in the Loft and a couple in the Snug. Both are beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable. This property is in a beautiful, peaceful location, private but very handy to the gorgeous Front Beach/Flaxmill Bay and the passenger ferry to Whitianga. Also a convenient base to explore Hahei, Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, Cooks Beach etc.. There are several great walks you can do from here including Whitianga Rock and Shakespeare Cliffs, Lonely Bay. The outdoor patio area in front of the Snug is a perfect spot for outdoor dining with a lovely outlook to the Estuary. Charles and Tam are brilliant friendly hosts. We'd love to...
Read moreWe loved our three nights at the Mooring Lane Lodge and I wish we’d allowed more time there. The owners are extremely helpful and kind - and there are special touches all over the loft from the yummy chocolate each night to the bikes and towels and water shoes for free. The breakfast basket provided each morning was delicious, views were quite beautiful and we were glad to be on the peaceful side of the ferry away (but easily accessible) from town. Highly recommend! Also - we really enjoyed the wine tasting and pizza at nearby Mercury Bay and also enjoyed at delicious dinner at Eggsentric...
