From the moment I walked into Hula Cafe, I was captivated by the warm, inviting atmosphere, perfectly complementing the seaside ambiance of Whitianga. The cafe staff greeted me with bright smiles and a genuine passion for coffee that only true enthusiasts can appreciate.
But what truly set this cafe apart from the rest was their heavenly use of Havana coffee blend. The first sip of my flat white was a transcendent experience. The rich, bold flavor of the beans, combined with the velvety smooth milk, left me in a state of pure bliss. Each subsequent visit has only reaffirmed the incredible quality and consistency of their brew.
Their espresso-based drinks shine, showcasing the distinctive character of the Havana blend – a harmonious balance of fruity and chocolatey notes, with a subtle hint of nuttiness. The coffee at Hula Cafe is not only delicious but also expertly prepared by their highly skilled baristas. They artfully craft each beverage with a perfect balance of strength and smoothness, making every cup an absolute delight.
Pairing their coffee with a delectable selection of treats and light bites only enhances the experience. I highly recommend their house-made banana bread, which boasts a moist, flavorful crumb that pairs impeccably with their coffee.
In conclusion, Hula Cafe in Whitianga offers an unparalleled coffee experience that should not be missed. Their exceptional use of the Havana coffee blend, combined with the expertise of their baristas and the welcoming atmosphere, make it a must-visit destination for coffee lovers. Read moreI'm no quite sure how this place got a 4.5! On arrival my girlfriend an I walked in, their where two girls behind the counter talking to each other, they didn't stop and say good morning they just carried on until I asked wether it was table service or at the counter. We were told counter. We went outside as it was a lovely day, unfortunately most of the chairs where full of bird droppings and my girlfriend found that out the hard way and spent the next 5 minutes cleaning her skirt. She then ordered our food which was fritters, she said very nice and the chilli jam finished it perfectly, I had the chorizo and beans and a side of kumara rosti with poached egg and toast, the egg was a little over done but the star of the dish was the toast,Cooked to perfection unlike the beans that had no flavour, why not add some smoked paprika cayenne pepper just something to enhance the chorizo and beans. We also ordered smoothies, they tasted more like water. When they arrive the girl just dumped them on the table as she did with the food, not even asking which one belonged to whom then walked off with not even a thank you ,smile or would you like anything else. Then not even a check back to see if we were ok. The place wasn't busy I guess I just find it a bit shocking when looked at trip advisor and on here and both of them saying 4.5 awesome atmosphere great service. The only thing I can come up with is that they got family and friends to post as it was...
Read moreA disappointing experience. The cafe was quiet when we arrived and only a few tables arrived during our stay. I ordered the beef burger, minus the beetroot. 40 minutes later they served me a falafel burger. I told the waiter it was the wrong burger. They put a new order in and did not offer any compensation whatsoever. I reminded them no beetroot please. It arrived another 25 minutes later. It still had beetroot. The bread was stale and overcooked. The onion 'rings' were more like batter globs. I mentioned this to the waiter and again no compensation. I left without finishing my meal. The only reason I have given it three stars is because my guests had passable meals. Very disappointing, we...
