I stayed over New Years along with my siblings. My sister booked the cabin for us online, however all of our names were added to the booking as required by the online form. I suggest checking your records. We were staying in cabin 14. We had no issue with the grounds or facilities. We had a fine time. However, as per the previous two reviews, we were made quite uncomfortable after a neighbouring cabin was locked out of the cabin, and one of our group went and lent him their phone to call the number provided on the door of reception for after hour problems (being locked out seems a pretty valid problem). The woman who was called was very angry and yelled at the customer both on the phone for waking her up and when she arrived to unlock the door. Regardless of what her issue was it definitely came across as unprofessional to us. The next day she accosted my bother asking us to sign a document stating that the customers had lied and she had not abused them. He advised he had not heard what had transpired and would not state anything untrue. We woke up to a note and a statement with a line for us to sign, basically stated she had not yelled at the neighbour etc. we chose to ignore this and checked out as planned, dropping the key off before having our cars stopped at the exit so she could come out once again and ask about us signing the statement. The whole ordeal took what was a pleasant stay into an uncomfortable situation that was not really...
Read moreThanks for the email this morning inviting us to leave a review. Just a quick recap for others, this campsite was lovely, they have good amenities but management are in a bubble of righteousness and cannot see how rudely they treated other guests staying in a nearby cabin to us, instead they tried to make us sign a false statement that they saying didn't do anything wrong which we highly disagreed with as Karen was incredibly rude and was yelling at these guests (the purpose of letter was to have the guests bad review removed from Google). I hope you guys find some humility and call these guest and apologise for how you spoke to them. They were locked out due to a fault with your door, yes they were a bit drunk (it was New Years Eve) but they were not rude or aggressive, they were apologetic and just wanted to get back inside after your door malfunctioned and locked them out. I'm sure having to get up at 11.30pm to unlock the door was an inconvenience but it is your job and the after hours number is there for these exact situations. The letter you left us (pictured below) and stopping us at check out made us feel very uncomfortable and kind of...
Read moreWe spent 3 days here with our campervan. Nothing to worry about with this campsite:
facilities are clean and well maintained (heated & hot showers complimentary, hairdryer etc. in the washrooms, kitchen is large & well equipped, BBQ, rice cooker available, herbs garden for use, etc. you are 5 min walking distance from the i-site and the townâs centre if needed for further travel plans you get 250 mb free wifi per day and an additional 250 mb plan if you are TOP10 member Powered & unpowered sites available
We liked the short walks to the centre and the walking distance to the city (if you are planing biking trips, need some grocery shopping, etc.), this is all nearby (a large grocery store is right in the middle of Okahune).
Only downside: you have a 30 min drive to the national park (but considering that all towns closer to the national park do not have the range of facilities, restaurants, etc.) we think this is a perfect place to start exploring the park.
We cannot really judge the pricing, as we had a special deal for 30 NZD per night which was...
