I had an egg burger, a battered sausage & a potato fritter. The burger was ok... Not the best that I've ever had but certainly better than another local establishment that I tried. The fritter was also ok but for the price, I'd expected a bit more to it. The battered sausage was the standout. Decent size & well executed, id certainly have that again... Although the price was slightly high. In a small township like Ohakune, one can't expect a wide variety of food choices (esp in the off season) so options are limited. Were I spending longer here, this would probably be my go-to... Although it would take a bit of experimentation to work out the best choices from the menu.

after craving food for almost 3 hours and especially fish and chips, this was the best place to go. good price for the amount of chips we got. the fish was crispy, felt like those asmr mukbang youtube videos. yet again i don’t know if i was really hungry or if those were just bussin 🤯 but go there if you can !!!!

👎🏻 1) sauces such as ketchup, chili are sold separately 2) the fried sausage is seriously bad in taste 3) the crew fried everything, without considering whether such items would taste good fried 4) not the most friendly outlet 5) it is a food place for when you have absolutely no other option

Would rate 0 if Google allowed me. What an incredibly disappointing meal - if you could even call it that. TLDR review = way too salty, overwhelmingly unsatisfying and overall not worth it. We had a lot of regrets.

Fried rice = I second the other Google reviewer who said he didn't even know fried rice could taste this bad. And we ordered 2 kinds (nasi goreng + combination) - regrets. Black pepper beef = Did they just tip the whole jar of salt in this?? Fried noodles = We ordered the vegetarian option but only got a 1-2 pieces of broccoli and some other veggies chucked in it. Wow.

To justify the one star that Google forces me to rate this place, at least the following were salvageable: wonton (it's deep fried so there's that), shaomai ($1 for a minuscule piece but still edible at least), and the sweet & sour pork (which actually tasted like what it should be, albeit again...

Easily the worst meal I’ve ever had. I ordered 2 fish, a battered sausage and a scoop of garlic chips. The whole meal was drowning in about half a block of melted garlic butter (no exaggeration), the batter on the sausage fell off completely when I picked it up and it seemed as though the sausage itself had been boiled as the skin was white, thick and chewy. The fish, dripping in oil also fell apart when I tried to pick it up and tasted terrible. I won’t even bother describing the chips. I couldn’t eat any of it, if I had eaten even half the meal i probably wouldn’t be here today writing this review. For almost $30 this was...
