Magic Chilli — Restaurant in North Island

Very bad experience, I understand we tourist can crave Indian food, but do not spend your money here. The owner is rude and doesn't value his customers. We visited at 8.45 pm, when no one was in shop( customers) they took our order which was simple Khadai Paneer and rice. He asked us to wait 30 mins, when I went and checked at 25th minute, the staff are just cleaning and doing their own things ( which they were doing, even when I placed the order) and are least bothered about our order. When I asked him about the food, he was like there are still 5 mins to prepare. I started waiting there and finally got out and when I checked the food the pulav rice is dripping in oil and he gave us daal instead of paneer dish. Prices are over the bar 23$ for curry and without plain rice, which is never the case in any Indian restaurants I have ever been in New Zealand. Worst service ever. Unprofessional very very rude, terrible customer service.We visited this place on Saturday at 6pm as a group. There was no proper sitting. We arranged our own chairs to sit. Person at the front desk full of attitude, not welcomed by the staff. Only one person working at the front desk, no helper, no baby chair for us. When we were standing there to give our order, person was busy taking their phone order. We waited there for 10 minutes. Finally he took the order and asked to wait for an hour. Front desk person said he will call us to come and have a dine inn which he never after an hour we went there again. Person said to wait there for more 20-30 minutes. Worst of worst he gave us a packed as in take away even asking after dine inn and waited for approx. 2 hours. Ordered roti and gave us Naan bread. Requesting all not to go there. We went there today for takeaway order three pilau rice two dal fry and lamb korma. Staff were friendly. Took 30 min as they mention while placing an order. Dal fry were average, lamb korma was too sweet ( feel like lamb butter chicken but in yellow colour ) Pilau rice were completely different then in picture (Look like we got biryani rice but without spices and meat, just coloured rice. ) And we were missing all three rice that normally comes with curry in every Indian cuisine restaurant ( it is partially our fault to not check the all item in the bag before leaving the restaurant ).

As I was previously part of Indian kitchen Team this was completely below average experience. As whole Dine In was empty there was no benefit of doubt for under Staff or any other excuses for Rush.
