I stayed in a one bedroom room for two nights. The room was large, clean and the bed comfortable. I did not find there to be any problem with road noise as some reviews mentioned. The kitchen was well equipped with a stove top and supplies however one of the other rooms set off the main fire alarm while cooking and who I think were the owners had to come to shut it off. You can walk there for breakfast and lunch. The owner is very kind and helpful. If you don't mind the beds on the soft side like our kids you will enjoy it. Very quiet location yet so close to everything and the playground across the road was tops for the kids after a day at the caves. It provides all the facilities to cook your own meals if you don't feel like eating out. You can walk to restaurants and bars. Very close drive to waitomo. Walk distance...
