Hot Roast Meals — Restaurant in Waikato

It was an extremely terrible experience. The owner is Asian and speaks Chinese, but he is racist towards Chinese people!! We had ordered roast dinner and had already finished eating. As we were about to leave, the owner suddenly spoke rudely and impolitely in Chinese, saying, ‘You’re sick and don’t even know to wear a mask! The coughing was so noisy!’ Then he rolled his eyes at us. 🙄 One of us did indeed have a cold, but there's no rule that says you can't dine in if you have a cold, right? If we had been informed at the beginning and were asked to take away, we would have gladly accepted. But after we finished eating and were about to leave, he showed us this attitude?? So rude! He acted completely differently towards the white customers. I angrily asked him in Chinese, ‘Do we have to wear masks while dining in? Why didn’t you say something earlier? Why are you rolling your eyes, and what’s with the attitude?’ The owner then pretended not to understand Chinese, claiming he didn’t know the language. Both of them clearly speak Chinese as their first language, they insulted us in Chinese, and now they’re pretending not to understand?? It’s really bizarre. We came to this small town for a trip, and now we have to endure this kind of treatment. There was a white lady nearby who didn’t understand a word of our Chinese but still sided with the owner and told us to shut up. It was absolutely ridiculous. I do not recommend this unfriendly,...

If I could rate this place a zero I would....once again I looked online to see if they were open and it said they were(confirmed by management 3 weeks ago) & guess what CLOSED AGAIN!!!! As a truck driver that stays regularly in Otorohanga it would be nice to get a healthy meal at night to take back to my motel.Not going to waste my time again(5time I've gone there&online says open but not) You have to be the most useless unreliable ROAST SHOP franchise ...

Wow what a great find! This shop is run by two lovely people. I ordered the $11 combo and this was really yummy. It comes with two sauces, salad in the roll, two potatoes and a can of drink. Great value and the roll was super soft and fresh. My friend ordered the wrap combo and that is equally impressive. I looked and the family feeds and they were really well priced and I will be back to try them. If you are hungry and love roast - then this...
