Have just finished my 2 nights here, and I found it hard to leave. Jacqui is such a kind and warm host, and the place is absolutely stunning. Jacqui went out of her way for me over the last few days, picking me up from the bus stop on arrival, making machine coffee to have with my breakfast, giving recommendations of activities to do within Oamaru, etc. The bedroom I stayed in was beautiful and spacious. The whole building has been decorated with a vintage, warm, inviting feel to it. The little ornaments and the pieces of art all tie in together so well. The breakfast I had in the morning was so well done, Jacqui puts a lot of effort into this whole place. The back garden is absolutely stunning and tranquil, and well looked after, it's a perfect place for coffee and a magazine. Jacqui gave fresh baking to the guests each day, and it was so yummy. She also gave me some to take for the bus ride home. The building and all the rooms are kept beautiful and tidy. I absolutely loved my stay here and am already planning to return. So much love and effort has been put into this placeš„° thank you Jacqui for making my stay so special and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Vicarage is a lovely B&B. The period details in the common room and guest rooms are just gorgeous. It was raining while we were there so we weren't able to see the gardens which also looked wonderful. The location is great - a short walk to the main commercial street, the Steampunk Museum and restaurants. ||Our room was very large and beautifully appointed, from the soaring ceilings and old wooden floors to the gorgeous fireplace. The room was a bit cold (probably our fault for not being able to figure out the heater) but the bed was very comfy with lots of warm blankets. ||Breakfast was delicious with a huge continental spread of toast, croissants, cereals, jams, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, etc. We felt very well cared for.||But the best part of the experience was Jacqui. She is an outstanding host and was so kind and friendly. We felt so welcome there. She provided excellent recommendations from things to do in Oamaru to what to do/see on our drive to the next day. We really enjoyed our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed for 4 nights with the hosts (Jacqui and co) from The Vicarage. The rooms were immaculate and we had a lovely breakfast each morning with just-so croissants brought in from Timaru and the most fabulous jam and fruit, cereals, coffee and juice. There were home baked nibbles when we returned to The Vicarage after our adventures. Being a crazy cat-lady having Penny greet us at the door upon arrival just added to the ambience. Jacqui was friendly and helpful with tips on what to see and do. She helped me with a purchase from the Victorian Precinct and shipped it to me. She has an eye for detail and it showed during our stay, and this was much appreciated. It was my dad's 80th birthday and she partied -up the breakfast area to make his day special. I totally recommend The Vicarage as a place to stay and it was a highlight of our...
