Their staff are Anti-Americans and made several statements that they do not trust Americans and profile them. The hotel has a horrible odor, it smells like a rat died somewhere. The whole hotel is infested with mosquitos and flies that bite you, like cesar flies. There are dead cockroaches in the swimming pool and the tall Yoruba guy that works at the pool was told to remove them and he was scared to, saying that is not his duty. It took them 2 hours to remove them and right after they did a family went into the pool right where the cockroaches were, and their kids were drinking that dirty water. The first thing you see when you enter the hotel is the trash on the left side that stinks very badly. The employees spy on their customers and some are suspected anti-American’s and part of the extremist groups in Nigeria. This place is just like a luxury prison. If you leave the room the cleaners ransack your property. If you have anything valuable like foreign passports, do not come here, your things will not be safe. Your things are not safe in your room like they should be and most of the staff are gold diggers. They just opened 3 weeks ago and rank themselves 4 stars because they want to draw people in and scam them, meanwhile they only deserve 1. I was miserable during my stay here; I could not sleep in the night because I was afraid something would happen to me. I am an American citizen and checked in to the hotel with my American passport. They immediately denied me from using my credit card and forced me to use cash for everything. I highly recommend you find another...

Read moreUnpleasant Experience at joy gate hotel
I recently had an unfortunate stay at joy gate hotel and felt compelled to share my experience. The state of the bathroom drainage was appalling. Upon using the shower, the water failed to drain properly, resulting in the entire bathroom flooding.
The inconvenience of a flooded bathroom extended to the main room, creating an uncomfortable and unsanitary living space. The hotel’s inability to address this basic issue promptly significantly impacted my overall stay.
Considering the importance of hygiene and comfort, this experience has left me with a lasting negative impression. I regret to say that I cannot, in good conscience, recommend joy gate hotel to anyone based on this unfortunate incident. I hope that the management takes immediate steps to address such concerns for the sake of...
