One Star - Worst Hotel Experience in Nigeria
My first day at Royal Jots Hotel was okay, but I noticed roaches right away. I stayed for over 30 days, and every single day was a battle with roaches—it made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable.
Breakfast was not complimentary, and when I did order it, it was consistently either burned or cold—never properly prepared.
As an American guest, I trusted the hotel enough to leave my passport and money locked away in my suitcase inside the wardrobe. However, after the keys were handed to the cleaner, I returned to find $20 USD and ₦500 missing from my wallet. I reported this immediately. The supervisor was extremely unprofessional and even accused me of lying. The manager never addressed the situation—no apology, no explanation, absolutely nothing.
This has been, by far, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in Nigeria. There is no customer service, no accountability, and unfortunately, theft seems to be tolerated. My husband and I will never return, nor will we recommend this place to anyone. It should honestly...

Read moreMy stay at this hotel last year was ok, its near to the airport, beds are comfortable and prices are competitive. However this time of staying, the service is very poor! Firstly, place has become very dusty especially the stairways and room floor corners. The bathroom has built up scales and also leaking water everywhere (see images). Secondly, internet connection was weak while hotel attendants are becoming less helpful. But main reason for the poor rating is as a result of the bad customer service I received at the front desk: my card was billed twice, after complaining i was simply told to go and sort it out with my bank, how absurd!
