Stayed at the brand-new HR Panama City during their soft open. The hotel had been open less than 30 days, and you’d never know it. The customer service from every department was over-the-top great…the best we’ve encountered in our travels. We stayed a total of 5 nights as Explorists with a club access award. This property takes care of Hyatt loyalists! We loved everything about our stay and would go right back for our next trip to PC. When we explain the superb customer service, it helps to understand we are low maintenance. Even our requests are “if it isn’t too much trouble” in nature. ||Pro’s/highlights:|- Very nice welcome email a few days before arriving, and a follow-up greeting from the general manager. Super nice person.|- Great front desk, especially Issac R. Super friendly, established a great rapport with us, and essentially served as a concierge. This included arranging a private bi-lingual driver for a day at a very reasonable rate. He exceeded every expectation for even the smallest request, at one point chasing down a delivery driver in front of the hotel to obtain some coins for us…just way above and beyond.|- Great Explorist welcome amenity (see pic of macroons) and unsolicited room upgrade to better view.|- Great lounge access benefits. The lounge is in the second tower which is not yet open, so HR offered the full breakfast buffet in the restaurant (otherwise $28pp), plus an evening cocktail hour with appetizers. It seemed like the hotel may have prepared those appetizers just for us, or perhaps 1-2 other elites. It was beautiful and tasty. |- Restaurant food was excellent throughout our stay. Very attentive and friendly staff.|- Room was super clean and refreshed twice a day.|- IT staff went to great lengths to help us watch NCAA MBB Tournament in our room. Again, unmatched service. And the manager followed up twice to see if we got to see our game. |- We had a tiny glitch with a door lock that wasn’t working and the staff quickly moved us to another room, which was a completely pleasant and acceptable solution. We came back from dinner downstairs to find an apology dessert…again, well beyond expectations. (see photo). ||General notes:|- Of course, the staff is bi-lingual.|- Located in the financial district. Walking felt safe, there are some options beyond the hotel for food. The neighborhood largely shuts down on the weekends.|- Very nice gym and pool (we didn't use).|- 2-3 supermarkets within walking distance.|- Sixt car rental half a block away. We were very happy with our rental there.|- Uber to Casco Viejo or the Canal Visitor Center is under $10.||We’ve stayed at a fair number of full-service hotels, including one Four Seasons. HR Panama City has every one of them beat when it comes to customer service. Truly the best we’ve ever experienced. ...

Read moreI am a Travel Advisor and I love Panama. I have stayed in Playa Blanca and wanted to stay in the city. Found Hyatt Regency and it was my first time staying at one anywhere. I brought with me a group of 12. Arrival was pleasant. everything about the hotel was beautiful, and the check-in process was smooth and welcoming. The breakfast was delightful and set a wonderful tone for each day.||My favorite part of the stay was meeting the General Manager and the bartender Edwin. Edwin crafted the best Old Fashioned I have ever had in my life, and his friendly, professional service truly enhanced my experience.||Unfortunately, I had a disappointing encounter with another bartender, Armando. His lack of customer service skills was quite noticeable. We waited a long time with NO attention, and he displayed an unprofessional attitude while preparing my drink. After placing my drink in front of me, he never returned to check on us. I had to flag down a waitress named Lia, who was kind and attentive, to take our order. Even then, the food took so long to arrive that I lost my appetite and canceled the order. Which the $120 charge for it has shown up on my credit card that I DID NOT authorize. I NEVER GOT THE FOOD!!! Why and I paying for meals I NEVER RECEIVED!!! ||Despite our empty glasses sitting right in front of us, Armando ignored us and served another table instead. Lia kindly made me a new drink after the first one (that I did nt drink) was not right, but again, no one came back to check on us.||This experience was really disheartening, and I would never treat anyone the way Armando treated us. On top of that, I recently noticed many charges on my credit card that I did not make, which adds to my concerns. I would really like for someone to address this matter ASAP. ||I want to thank Lia and Edwin for their excellent service, you made the trip better for us. I hope management addresses the issues with Armando to improve the overall guest experience.||Overall the hotel...
