🚨 WARNING: This restaurant has paid for loads of fake reviews to bump them up. Pay close attention to all the reviews. At time of me writing my review (April 2023) there has been hundreds of reviews in the past week, however when I went there, there was only a few tables busy, so the number of reviews don't corrolate with the amount of business. If you read the reviews you can tell they are fake as well, comments such as "ordered my food and it came within 2 days, would order again" or "waitress are bad but service was good" contradicting what has been written. Anyway I hope my warning tells you to avoid this place. It's pretty pricey for Panama, the portion sizes aren't great and it's not Street food at all. It's a restaurant basically selling some Panamanian food and American cuisine. I ordered the "pollo al sombrero" which was described as fried chicken in a hat. The chicken wasn't fried (I swear they just ran around the corner to supermercado Rey and bought some rotisserie chicken) and it's not served in a hat, but in a "hat shaped plate". It's also pretty bland. Also the atmosphere of the restaurant is not a vibe. Take a look at my photo of a table I was sat at. The stools are at the height of the table. The table is really too low to sit and eat at, maybe ok for actual street food, but when it's a restaurant, it's not good at all. Given the food 3 stars because it was edible and came out in a reasonable time, however it wasn't that flavourful or a great portion.

I went to experience this restaurant for lunch while in Panama, it was not easy to find as I spent over a half hour trying to find this place on Google maps When I was thinking to just give up, I ask some police officers to help me which they did, I just wanted to try some good Panamanian food and it didn't disappoint Located on a quiet street away from most businesses glad I found it...there's a nice vibe to the place from its bohemian decor on the outside under the lanai, but I chose the air-conditioned interior from the humid Panamanian heat which was nice and relaxing The complimentary hot consomme that was offered when you sit down was so good, I enjoyed it without knowing what it was, they make good Sangrias which was refreshing and my meal of Plantain lasagna was really good and piping hot, this dish was unexpected and delicious another good use of a local product, was hoping to go back another day, because I did enjoy my time here, but the week went by too fast. Service could be improved as the staff looked a bit stressed and not very friendly, but I'll recommend this restaurant for some good Panamanian food as other dishes I noticed from other patrons looks delicious also.

The meal was delicious. I had the Concolon con ropas viejas and the combination of the meat, beans and crispy rice were just perfect. They also have various flavors of hot sauce to enhance the experience.

As a single traveler it was awkward to begin with, and my service felt as though I was an inconvenience. I don't know exactly what was happening, but I felt I was being sneered at by the wait staff the whole meal. I hurried through a few bites and asked to take the rest to go as I was so uncomfortable.

If you find yourself solo traveling I would look somewhere else, or at the very least order to take away. The food is good but not worth the attitude if driving in.

UPDATE: Since the restaurant chose to respond accordingly, I will counter. In no way was I asking to be "entertained" or treated as an escort. I always attempt to encounter any situation as friendly as possible. There's a difference between expecting to be catered to and simply being treated with basic respect.

I found the favorable reviews and walked 45 minutes from my hotel in hopes of a good meal. That's all I wanted. I'm okay having minimal attention - I just don't want to be treated with the contempt I encountered.

The response by his restaurant just showed their incapability of acting with any sense of humanity. Read this carefully and consider before walking through...
