My recent experience at The Decapolis Hotel Panama City can be summed up as profoundly disappointing and frustrating. The property's state of disrepair, combined with abysmal customer service, made for an utterly unpleasant stay and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.
Upon entering the room, I was immediately met with a host of problems. The shower faucets were non-functional, making it nearly impossible to turn on the water or even regulate the water temperature. Several light fixtures were either flickering or completely out, leaving the room poorly lit and unwelcoming.
As if that wasn't enough, the air conditioner began leaking water in the middle of the night, turning what should have been a peaceful sleep into a nightmare. Imagine water pouring out of your ceiling at midnight while you were sleeping. Maintenance had to be summoned, disrupting my rest and causing unnecessary stress.
Furthermore, the cleanliness of the room was appalling. Dust and hair were visibly accumulated on the furniture, indicating a lack of attention to proper cleaning protocols. Some pieces of furniture were outdated, while others were missing altogether, contributing to a chaotic and incomplete environment. To make matters worse, several pieces of furniture were stained, further highlighting the hotel's disregard for guest comfort.
In addition to these issues, essential amenities such as towels were missing from the room, suggesting a lack of organization and care on the part of the hotel staff.
The culmination of these problems led to the necessity of changing rooms not once, not twice, but three times during my stay. It became abundantly clear that the property was in a state of disrepair, and the level of customer service provided was woefully inadequate.
Overall, I cannot in good conscience recommend staying at The Decapolis Hotel Panama City. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel until significant improvements are made to both its physical condition and level of service. It is a shame to see such potential squandered by neglect and apathy.
Final note the Manager Ricardo Diaz was mostly unresponsive to our numerous complaints including but not limited to, with video evidence, the AC Unit leaking in our room. GO...
Read moreMy recent stay at Decapolis left much to be desired. Despite my efforts to communicate my late check-in due to a red-eye flight, I encountered a series of issues that significantly marred the experience. The promised room availability at the scheduled 3:15 check-in time was delayed, and the front desk clerk seemed to forget my situation after a 20-minute wait. This lack of attention to detail and a nonchalant response set an unfortunate tone for my stay.
Even after alerting the front desk to the ongoing delay, the subsequent room readiness was inconsistent. The lack of a definitive time frame for the second wait further exacerbated the situation. While the manager eventually intervened, acknowledging the oversight, it was disconcerting to discover that the pillows in the bedroom were without pillowcases. Despite the assurance that the missing pillowcases would be brought within the hour, they were never delivered, even after repeated calls to the front desk. The evident short-staffing of the front desk during my stay raised concerns about the hotel's ability to provide a satisfactory level of service.
Regrettably, the shortcomings extended beyond the check-in process. The hallways displayed a disconcerting lack of cleanliness, and the insufficient supply of towels in the bathroom added to the overall discomfort. This experience falls short of the standards I expect from a hotel of Decapoli’s caliber. While the manager attempted to address my concerns, the lack of follow-through on promised amenities and the persistently unattended front desk calls diminish my confidence in recommending this establishment. I reluctantly assign a rating of two stars, reflecting the substantial room for improvement in both service and overall...
Read moreI stay with my family on December 2023 it was a nightmare. The first room they gave me on the 10th floor first issue:after opening the door with extremely difficulties, we were not able to close it, the toilet was clogged, all the lamps in the room, not working and the outlets detached from the wall and not working. The had to move us to another room. They gave us a room on the 13 floor , It was even worse as soon we entered the room we noticed the bad shape of the paint on the walls , peeling all over , it looks like they have a big issue with the AC after an hour of being in the room the ceiling started leaking and we also noticed pockets of water on the walls. They toilet was not working. And I heard some people screaming: they found a lizard in the room. Neighbors from other rooms were complaining about roaches. We were desperately calling reception, no answer at all . We had to go downstairs. We had to be moved AGAIN to the 21 floor . This hotel needs to be urgently repaired or renovated. The eggs in the breakfast were awful , not much variety every morning. The gym everything broken . The pool , no towels. Elevators,3 of them only 2 working. The didn’t have enough towels for the room , it looks borrowed Hard Rock Hotel towels. I have to request towels and toilet paper every single day of my stay. The hostess in the breakfast area was rude and pushy. Stay away from this hotel is updated , unclean, unsafe , is not worth your money. A lot of the guests that I met in the elevator’s were completely unsatisfied with their rooms , the cleanliness, the breakfast and the general condition...
