bitter sweet stay. The room provided on the check in was really good. The issue was that I never complaint for anything at all because everything was good. HOWEVER, on my third day, after a long day of activities in Panama , we reached out and guess what!, my key was deactivated ! could not get in into the room. I went to the reception and the guy said: did you not receive a letter? ... I went: No! I did not receive anything. Why? he goes: the ac is not working and you will be transfer to another room. We will send you the guy to pick your bags for the change. I will activate your key for you to take your stuff out. I went with my 70 year old mom back to the room and then realized that the ac was working perfectly fine. ... tried to understand the situation. I started packing my bags and then , decided to make a call to a person who is knowledgeable about all this hotel issues and he suggested me not to move an inch from the room since the arguments used by the hotel were not true and also given the fact that my mother is a senior and on the top she was exhausted and in pain. Again I say : this is not nice guys!
Also! we wanted to rest! why giving us a hard time for God knows what reason!
I went back to the reception and said to the man in charge: this is not cool what you have done. I am with a senior here and you just can't consider that. ...
I decided to see the room that they offered that was slightly bigger than the one we stay...
I went back to my room and decided not to go since the AC was absolutely fine.
My mom was really upset and I know you don't care for what I am going to say, but it was her celebration for her 70th birthday..
at the end I call from the room to the reception and said to the guy that the AC was fine and that I was not moving from the room and he goes : just because of the situation of the second guest, I make an exception and let you stay there....

My husband and I went down for breakfast after a late check in the knight before however to our surprise we saw the kitchen cook mixing a large serving bowl of spaghetti with his bare hands as he added butter. At that point I was so upset and turned off I made my way to the hostess at the entrance of the dinning area to ask for the supervisor , she stated that he was not available and ask what was the problem. I explained to her what we had seen and that it was not clean or proper hygiene. She stated that the cook wash his hands and that's all that matter. At that point I lost it because am a health care professional and know that's a load of bull. After that incident we ate out the rest of our stay. The rooms are ok I guess however no refrigerator or microwave in room and if you need ice you have to venture thru the other floors to find an ice machine. The shower water goes from hot to cold in a blink of a eye and to make it worst the water goes down the drain very slow , so you are trying to shower in a pool of water that drains slower than molasses. Over all this was not a good experience. This hotel don't deserve the stars it advertises. Please if you have a chance just go to the riu I should've done that from the beginning I know colleagues that stayed there and had a wonderful experience. When I was checking in people came up to the counter over and over again with different problems made me a little nervous. I went to my room the refrigerator doesn't work the telephone they would not answer the phone call from my room it rang and rang and rang the television remote does not work. I asked why they didn't answer the phone they say that they're busy you get no customer service at all I would never have booked this place. I should have known when the first time in my entire life I hotel charged me up front for my stay I've never had that happen before but now I know why they have to do that so they get you to stay and pay the money. Now I'm stuck here for my whole trip. Their food is not good in the restaurant the cake is old and been sitting there. I had the spaghetti bolognese it was the worst I've ever had. You have officially been warned of the type of service you will get at this establishment. If you still choose to book your stay at this hotel it is at your own risk. If you are from the United States or any English speaking country I would not recommend this hotel at all. The morning Buffett is horrible do not pre pay for that. I could not eat anything.
