What a terrible experience I am having. I am a world traveler, and during the Winter season, I travel a lot to the tropics. I always do All-inclusive, and to me it is the easiest way to stay in a resort. When I booked that All-inclusive package to the Hard Cafe Resort in Panama City, in Central America, there was not any reason for me to believe that it could be different from Punta Cana, Cancun, or anywhere else I have been before. Today, we arrived at the hotel, at about 8.30am, we were told that we will not be able to use the privileges of our All-inclusive package until 3pm, so we left the hotel to have breakfast somewhere else. At 3.30, we were looking for a place to have lunch at the resort, and What an the restaurants were already closed. We went by the poolside to have a drink, and order 2 burgers, thinking that it was included in our package, they charged us 49$ for the 2 burgers. Later, they charged us 10$ for a Corona beer. After this experience I went to check our options for dinner, in the restaurants, we were told that there was "a special menu" for All-inclusice travelers. What is this? I never heard of this. Besides giving us ONE single bed , when I requested double bed in booking this package, paying for our foods, what will go wrong for the remaining 6 days? I skipped dinner completely to spare myself the humiliation of ordering from that "special menu". For the first time, I am on a vacation, and stayed in my room since 5.10pm. Why is going...
Read moreExcellent service!!!! Ask for Elliot as your waiter :-) We came to Hard Rock because we stayed at the HR Hotel in Panama-City. In general all locals are so friendly to us stupid tourists. They have a passion about their country and want to share it with you. Elliot gave us great tips on what to do in Panamá-City. Also I ordered the Veggie-Burger and he pointed out the patty was made with cheese (probably because of allergy). I really appreciated it because I only want to eat plant based. So I told him “ok well then fries it is” lol my usual only option at some restaurants. But he wanted to make me happy! So he came back from the kutchen and he asked me if I want the fajitas with mushrooms. And I was like “ok? Why not!”. The fajitas were delicious!! They came with grilled mushrooms and onions, lettuce and avocado. It was so good and for a really good price. Unbelievably good service and food. I am still impressed because most of the time servers in restaurants with mixed kitchen do not care much about satisfying their plant based/vegan customers. I would ALWAYS go back and recommend it to everybody! Of course I cannot speak for all of their staff members, but Elliot did not disappoint at all. Every restaurant needs caring personnel like Elliot! (And his English is very good too) BTW You have to go through the HR shop to get into...
Read moreFor me, attending the HRC locations whenever I'm around is almost a must, and Panama City wasn't going to be an exception. This one was closed for a while, last time I tried about three years ago and there was no expected re-opening date, good to find it in service now.
My experience here, lunch time, was about as expected: great service, good food, price a little above fair given the food but fair considering here it includes the brand. Service here is fully bilingual, good for a place taking tourists as their main target.
My food was the Local Original burger, HRC Panama's rendition of the Original HRC burger, here including mashed lentils, sliced plantains, Monterrey Jack cheese, red pepper and onion sauce, lettuce, tomato, and of course a juicy beef patty, all inside a traditional bun; good, tasty, a good mix of the American burger and local ingredients.
Quick note: if you are a Hard Rock Rewards member, they have some trouble handling it, ask for the code and request for the visit track...
