Factoria Hotel — Hotel in Asuncion

This is a wonderful gem of a property in Asunción. I personally find it to be the best hotel in Asunción, if you like small boutique properties.

The desk staff was always responsive before and during the stay.

The restaurant in the hotel had a tasty breakfast every morning. Always good service in the restaurant, but was a little slow at times due to staffing issues it seems.

The room is impeccably clean and very large. I had a wonderful sitting room with a desk. The bed was wonderfully soft and seemed larger than a normal king-size bed. The room had a ton of windows, so during the day was well lit. At night, the curtains were great and didn't let in any light. I tend to be a light sleeper and could sleep until noon if it wasn't for the wakeup call and my need to be at my office lol...

Two minor complaints, but I'm being nitpicky.

The first is that they didn't have quite enough outlets in convenient places throughout the room. Minor, but for all of our devices and a work desk, you would imagine they would be more strategically placed.

The second, again is minor, but the claw foot tub in my room needed some work. The yellowing was really bad and the porcelain inside was chipping. I am not a bath guy, but it just didn't fit in with the rest of the clean finish. I get the claw foot tub in the room, it just needs to be refinished.

La Factoría is hands down, my favorite hotel in ANY country in the world. We stayed many nights sprinkled through January and May/June 2021, and although this review is late on my part, this gorgeous property MUST be recognized. From the 5-star service to the spectacular, gothic-inspired property, meticulously framed by tropical foliage and an inviting pristine pool, this hotel is a true gem. It would be well over a thousand euros in Europe. I still dream of their room service breakfasts, elaborate and delivered with supreme service. We were so lucky to be able to visit multiple times during the pandemic, and they took great safety measures here, for anyone concerned with that—employees always masked, and sink outside with a doorman who handed you a fresh paper towel to dry your hands. The Hotel Manager is amazingly kind and detail-oriented, as are his entire staff. The photos in the review don’t do this properly justice. Beautiful hotel with impeccable style and incredible room/bathroom comfort. We did not want to leave this hotel and 2 nights was not enough. However we did have an issue with breakfast our second day, which ended up causing us to miss our speedy bus and as a result, we spent 8 hours on a slow bus which stopped thousands of times and had no AC and was mosquito infested. Moral of the story...when they say breakfast will be ready a delivered at 7 am...know it is really 7:30 and if you have a bus or plane to catch, take the option of breakfast to go. It was a very painful and flawed call on our part...but the hotel is so nice we never doubted them when they said breakfast would be delivered at 7 am. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant had good food too. We really appreciated the water cooler in the gym to refill our reusable water bottles. The hotel staff was extra friendly and the location was convenient to both old town and new town. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants and felt super safe.
