Hostal Belen — Hotel in Chachapoyas

This is not a nice place. It is terrifically located, right on the plaza in Chachapoyas, and the people are generally nice, but this hostel's good points end there. The rooms are tiny, with carpet stains and mold, the showers (advertised as hot) fluctuate wildly and erratically in temperature, and loud televisions and conversations at all hours of the night reverberate their way through the rooms, making a good night's sleep challenging. The beds themselves are of questionable cleanliness, with cheap, thin, scratchy sheets and lumpy pillows. The only reason they can charge the prices they do (S/. 45 for a single, S/. 55 for a double room, as of July 2014) is their location. Unless you forgot to make a reservation in the midst of Fiestas Patrias, and this is your final option, look...

Me alojè dos noches en Hostal Belèn en la Plaza de Armas de Chachapoyas. En un hostal de cuatro pisos, aunque desde fuera parece que sòlo tuviera dos. Los pisos son enchapados con ceràmicos. Las habitaciones con còmodas,de buen tamaño, con closet, mesa, silla. La lencerìa es limpia y la cambian todos los dìas. No dan desayuno, pero al estar en la parte màs centrìca de la ciudad, se encuentran restaurantes cerca. Y a t'il eu des travaux dans l'hôtel? Je suis surprise des autres avis. Hotel très propre pour un tarif raisonnable en plein centre de Chachapoyas sur la plaza de armas. L'eau chaude fluctue un peu certe mais c'est bien un peu partout la même chose. Pour le bruit idem, bien sûr on entend les voitures mais comme partout! Nous avons choisi l'option boules quies il y a longtemps deja! Sinon accueil très sympa, service de lavanderia, excellent rapport qualité/prix....
