Lodging House Ezama — Hotel in Independencia

I stayed for two nights in this hostel. Already starting from the phone call to make a reservation with Emilio you could just feel the friendliness in his voice! The whole family was very welcoming. The place is really big and everything is very clean. The location is a bit further than the other hostels from the main plaza, but the price and "buena onda" (good vibes) is totally worth it! Also it's only 5 blocks of walking distance from most of the bus terminals (for example Movil Tours). There's a lot of cheap and good restaurants in the neighbourhood and I felt safe walking around by myself during the day and night to get back to the hostel. Emilio, the owner of the hostel, is a super nice and a very helpful person. He not only let me get into the room before check in (which is at 11 am and i arrived at 7 am), but also was very helpful giving me some information about the places to visit, treks and more stuff - including a city map. The hostel is very confortable and quiet, since it is not that close to the city center you are able to forget about the noise during your time there. Also, it has two common areas were you are able to socialize with other guests while drinking a beer (that you can buy there for S/5).||||There was a little problem with the shower on the first day (hot water was not runing), but it got fixed the next day.||||Good price for...

I don't think I've ever had such a friendly welcome and time in a hostel as Ezama, as arriving you seemingly become part of the family. The manager and father of the family is incredible, helping with anything as he helped us organise all trips we took part in and around Huaraz including Laguna 69 and Glacier Pastoruri. ||||Don't get me wrong, the amenities on hand are basic at best but simply the atmosphere of the place just makes that completely unnoticeable, I know for sure that I would go again.||||Also within very close proximity (4-5 minute walk) to the bus station and maybe 15 minutes walk to the Plaza de Armas, not to be sniffed at for such a...
