Trece Buhos — Restaurant in Independencia

The food was average and expensive for what you got, and service slow, but the main reason for my low rating is the dishonesty of the staff. When we received our bill, the price of a lasagne and a hot chocolate was 1 sole each dearer than we had expected based on the menu we ordered from. When questioned about it, the waiter suggested we were wrong but lowered the lasagne price, but not the hot chocolate price. When we complained again by saying our menu had said the price was 7 soles, not 8, he went over to the bar and sifted through the menus to find one with the higher price. We went over to him and picked up the menu WE had, which had the lower price, which he clearly did not want us to see again. 13 Buhos is a place you have to visit while in Huaraz. I went there several times during my stay, the food was great, and the owner Lucho is a nice guy too. The beers they sell at the bar are actually brewed by Lucho himself in Huaraz. He brews 5 different types: A blond, a red, a black ale but the ones that blew my mind were the roja de coca and the negra de coca with (like the name suggests) contain coca leaves. The cocktails were extremely expensive compared to other areas in Huaraz.

I ordered the worst pizza I've ever had in my life (full of funny tasting cheese), the pizza itself was incredibly cheap compared to everything else on the menu and it shows.

The waiter also messed our order up 3 times and we had to ask twice for drinks that we never received.

Overall, this was a total disappointment, but perhaps it was just an off day for the staff and maybe I should have ordered one of the...
