This small hotel on a non-major street is an unbeatable value, with fairly spacious rooms, and a good breakfast with delicious home-made fruit juices, and eggs cooked to order.||||It is, however, a budget hotel, and there are a few shortcomings of which you should be aware. It is in a noisy part of Huaraz, so you should expect to wear earplugs if you want to sleep well (dogs and car horns will keep you awake), and the beds are just slightly softer than concrete platforms. The bathrooms have plenty of hot water, but their "windows" are actually just louvered openings that cannot be closed, so if it's cold out, expect to get chilled when getting in/out of the hot shower. Finally, although they claim to have wifi internet, in our two days there, we were never able to load a single website (not even low-data-use email). Their wifi network appears on your device, and you can connect to it, but you cannot actually load anything. When I asked about it, the gal at reception claimed that the internet for all of Huaraz was down -- yet, a few minutes later, when I went to a restaurant, their wifi worked fine. If you need internet, you'll likely have to go elsewhere -- internet places in Huaraz are plentiful and cheap (about 1 sole for 30 min.).||||Virtually no English is spoken at the hotel, but we were able to communicate as necessary using broken Spanish and Google Translate.||||It's a short walk into town, and there's a bodega and a bakery just outside the door.||||If you're looking for great value-for-money, this...
Read moreThis is a great oasis in the busy and bustling town of Huaraz. The rooms are lovely, clean, freshly painted, well kitted out with kettle, cooker, cutlery etc - if you're in an apartment. The rooms mostly look into the beautifully tended garden. The rooms are quieter than other hotels as the hotel is set back from the road. |The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us a complimentary upgrade to an apartment and making our room available upon our arrival, 7am, instead of the mid afternoon check in time stated. |The breakfast was nice, a freshly made juice of your choice, eggs as you like, bread, and jams etc. |A tip on the showers, if they don't run hot immediately wait a couple of minutes, run the cold as well the hot. If that fails, run the hot tap in the kitchen area and the pressure and the hot water comes through. |I would highly recommend to friends, families and couples alike. Good value, lovely rooms, quiet location but easy access to the centre (10 mins walk), friendly...
Read moreCompared to the hostels in the town centre this hotel was a pleasant retreat. |A nicely decorated hotel and only 10min walk into the town centre. Hot shower (after letting it run for a few minutes) and eggs how you like for breakfast. The double rooms are in a small two floor house with shared kitchen and seating area, good for keeping costs down and not having to go back out after a long day out.||We had only two issues with the hotel, firstly that the wall between two rooms are thin, however unless your unlucky we didn't find it a problem. The staff really don't speak any English, two tried their best but most knew none at all however I speak very little Spanish and with google translate and a phrase...
