I feel the need to start by saying that we are backpackers who have been travelling for 6months and by NO means have high standards. This is the first time we have ever had to make a complaint about anything in a hostel/hotel.(nevermind 3 times in 2 nights..) Also, I feel bad for the staff because they were nice, but the management has a lot of work to make it even a 1*.||I don't even know where to start with this place. The room (106) we were given was NOTHING like the pictures. It was completely delapadated. There wasn't even hangers to dry our towels. Our 'ensuite' was actually at the far end of the hall from our room, which meant getting dressed again every time we needed to use it.(It also had NO VENTILATION at all.) But we said nothing about the horrible room or bathroom and tried to make do. ||That night we got NO SLEEP as we heard every single sound made by our upstairs neighbours- pounding on the floor, going to the toilet, snoring, watching TV, on the phone- as though they were actually in our room. We had three windows- two led to the hallway and one outside- and no curtains/blinds on any. At night the two internal windows flooded the room with light from the hall, from about 5am the external window did the same. Ironically, there was no ventilation/windows that actually opened in the room. So eventually at about 4am we put in EAR PLUGS and put on EYE MASKS and managed about three hours sleep.||In the morning we asked to change rooms (via Google translate as we don't speak Spanish). We were accomodated and given another room. (301) Again, it was nothing at all like the pictures online, but it was an improvement, so we stayed. That was our mistake- The bathroom door didn't close. We still had no curtains(a see through privacy blind instead). We had to ask for a different pillow as one of the ones we got seemed to be made from concrete (after attempting to first sleep with a travel pillow). And finally we spent half the night awake again listening to our new neighbours...but this time they weren't watching TV. We went downstairs after about an hour of banging on the wall, he tried calling the room but obviously they were too busy to answer, and so we resorted to another night of earplugs.||If we could afford to stay somewhere else for our last night we would forfeit what we paid here just to get out. Do not stay here. Find...
Read moreLocation is good; neighborhood is quiet and pleasant and central miraflores and 'metropolitano' express bus link is close-by. Staff is friendly and helpful and the place is clean and very safe. Now the bad stuff: The owners have crammed in a lot of rooms in the hotel and often a lot of beds in the rooms: the place is a bit of a bee-hive. As a result the hotel can be quite noisy, especially because the separations between rooms are flimsy. I stayed in room 301 which was a nightmare- it has a large window facing the stairway (through which artificial light poured in all night) and is surrounded by rooms with multiple beds and bunkers. The second night I was woken at midnight by a large group of young back-packers who made a racket until 1:30am- complaining to management did not seem to have any effect. To make matters worse everytime someone rings the door bell, a loud chime rings through a series of loudspeakers placed throughout the hotel. The photos are also deceiving; the communal spaces are really small- the so called 'garden' is a small porch in the front; the dining room has two tables. It seems to me much of the space in the property, including the back-garden, has been 'renovated' to make place for more rooms. In sum: the place will appeal to back-packers and heavy sleepers who want to stay in Miraflores and pay a little less than some of the...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights in 2 different occasions.|First night we were given the room and all seemed fine, room was small and the bathroom extremely small but we thought it was ok. Problem was that there was no hot water available for a shower, after reporting the incident we were told to use the bathroom of another room and we got moved to said room the next day as there were nobody to fix the hot water issue during the weekend. Second room was even smaller than the first one but at least it was quiter.|The breakfast was ok, some bread, butter and jams were available along with orange juice and coffee, some scrambled eggs, cheese and ham, yogurt and cereals, very basic and small but sufficient, clean and good.|On our second stay, we were given a much larger room still on the second floor and as loud as the first since the window glass was very thin so you could hear everything from outside even closing the window. ||Service was good and polite. I give it 3 stars because of the issues and because the rooms do seem a bit old and the bathrooms could have been cleaner...
