This place was small and cute. But there were a number of issues. From a safety point it was pretty good (locked gates and iron bars). But the rooms were less then safe. There was only one key for all the roommates. I had 6 other people in my room. The key was left in a basket at the front desk when we were out meaning anyone could have gotten the key and entered our room. Cleaniness was awful. I don't think the towels we're ever changed and it was evident the sheets were not washed in the time we were there. There were bedbuggs in one of the beds and cockroaches in the bathroom on day two. The floor was never swept and the bathroom was very dirty upon arrival. Hot water was also scarce. Next the front gate was locked with a key at night which made is seem secure but it means that if you wanted to get in OR OUT you had to ring the door bell to wake up a manager who came with the key to let you in or out. Wall are super thin and people upstairs could hear me at night talking softly when I was at the front gate. Also that door bell could be hear throughout the hostel. The people here though we're super friendly and nice. They spoke a little bit of English and were available...
Read moreWe stayed here for 4 nights and were satisfied. We had originally booked a private room with shared bathroom but when we were taken up to the tinest room on the sweltering third floor with no working fan - we asked to be moved. Even into one of the other rooms on the third floor with working fans, but They moved us into a private room with a private bathroom. ||||The room and bathroom were needing some paint and love. But the room was large and comfortable as was the bed. all in all it was clean and the shower had hot water. The only downside was our room was right off the common area which could be a little noisy in the evenings. We had ear plugs which was an easy enough fix. ||||The hostel has a pool and a rooftop terrace but we never checked it out. ||The location is good being within walking distance to downtown Miraflores. There is also a large supermarket nearby which was handy for some fruit and snacks. ||||Breakfast was average with toast and cheese and ham and coffee. Nothing special but it was decent. ||The hotel is good for the price. You're not getting a 5 star but your also not paying that price. All in all...
Read moreI think this hostel would be okay if you got a room on the upper floors. I had room 101, which is right next to the patio and dining room. The wifi absolutely could not connect in the room although walking 10 feet out of the room into the patio I had no problem connecting. It was a slight inconvenience but not a deal breaker. The room and bathroom were fine and they provide a very basic breakfast: Bananas, bread, and juice. The owners were pretty accommodating until a situation came up where multiple people on my trip had money stolen out of their rooms (everyone in the room were on the same trip, no strangers). I'm not sure how the situation was resolved but all I can say is make sure you lock all of your valuable in the safe AND take the safe key with you every time you leave the room. The hostel is in a safe and nice area in Miraflores with a grocery store and many restaurants nearby. Plus the beach is a long, but walkable distance away. I'd probably find a different place to stay next time I'm in Lima, but it certainly wasn't the worst place...
