We stayed here at the beginning and end of our tour of Peru. The hotel is very dated and musty. We stayed at hotels all over Peru and none of them had the same smell problem - even in the Amazon where the humidity was crazy. ||||The breakfast was the same every morning and was very tired.||||The staff were the very unhelpful. We arrived at 300 am. We asked the front desk clerk where we could get some water (as we were very dehydrated from 15 hours of flying). He said there was water in the rooms for us. We went to the room (* important side note - yes the hallway lights are motion activated, but they did not turn on until we were actually in our room. Also would have been nice for the staff to tell us which was to go when we got off the elevator - no instructions were provided so we were trying to figure that out in the dark). In the room, there was only one bottle of water, i went back down to ask for a second bottle, since there were two of us. The front desk clerk said they could not do anything because everything was locked us. Understandable. He said he would leave a note to leave 2 bottles in the room the following day. This was appreciated as you could not use the tap water for anything, including brushing your teeth.||||Fast forward to when we checked out, the clerk advised that we owed 15SOL for the three bottles of water. this was a lot more than the water normally costs (for 3 bottles, it is less than 6 SOL). I explained to her the prior conversations with the other clerk and that there was no mention of their being any cost. There was also no information in the room itself indicating that there was a cost for the water. Had we been told, we would have bought the water from across the street (literally) for a third of the price. We had purchased other water as well. The clerk (the female one) was so unbelievably rude. We still had two of the water bottles unopened, which we were going to take with us, and we were going to return them, but it was not permitted. So I paid the money and left.||||The location isn't bad, but there are so many different options to stay, that I would stay elsewhere if I was back...
Read moreUnfortunately, we had a horrible experience at this hotel and can't recommend it to anyone. We were also booked here by G Adventures and had decided to stay a couple of days extra in Lima. We tried to change hotels but were told it was already payed for and could therefore not be changed.||First, there were no towels when we checked in. There was no wifi-signal in our room and when I asked to switch rooms, it took them two hours to make the arrangements, even though it was clear most of the hotel rooms were empty.|The rooms are musty and have a bad odor, during the days they house keeping leave all the doors open to the empty rooms which I guess is to air it out, it does not help. Most of the time, you had to wait 6-7 minutes to get hot water in the shower. Key cards also stoped working on average three times a day.||Worst of all is the breakfast though, during the days we stayed there, it went from bad to worse. Every day was I little bit different, but the last day I couldn't get any yoghurt, granola, ham or cheese (of which one or the other had been there previous days) and when they ran out of bread I was asked to wait for 15 minutes for them to heat up some more. There is a lovely patio outside the dining room which we weren't allowed to use because they said they clean every morning during breakfast time, however they never did during our five days.||Many of these things i could easily have overlooked if the staff was helpful, unfortunately they were without any form of engagement. The last day I also asked to talk to the hotel manager to explain why we were so unsatisfied but she was never there, instead I was given an hotmail address where I could write her.||Late check out is US $40 extra.||Sure the location is good, but so are many other hotels in Miraflores. The only good thing I have to say is that the house keeping ladies were wonderful and did the...
Read moreThis hotel is the starting point for G adventures tours for trips leaving or coming back to Lima. The hotel itself is not bad and is in a nice safe area in Miraflores, but the rooms have a very mouldy smell and waiting 15-20 mins for hot water in your shower is the norm. Breakfast is from 6:45- 9:45 but you can expect them to shut it off at 8:30 just because!!! The staff are not very helpful and seem to have very little idea of how a hotel is run, they have a couple of taxi's that they use when you ask for one and charge an inflated amount to get anywhere do yourself a favour and walk out to the street and wave one down your self as we paid 35soles for the hotel taxi and the next day paid 15soles with a normal cab to go to the same place!!! The wifi is only suitable in reception, In your room it will drop in and out or not work at all. Be careful leaving your bag with reception as a guy off our tour did and they sent his bag to the airport with someone else and didn't seem to care when asked where his bag had gone. Until G Adventures change hotels this will be the one you stay at the night before and after your tour, if you have more time in Lima do yourself a favour and head towards Kennedy park and book something down there...
