Unfortunately 2 of 3 diners in my group (including me) got very serious food poisoning from this otherwise good restaurant. Full disclosure we are travellers and maybe it is fine for locals. But prior to going to mattoni we travelled in cusco, machu picchu, and the amazon and did not have any issues with food sanitation, so this is not a problem with just our weaker stomachs. We arrived to lima and had dinner at Mattoni, and a few hours later we were floored for the next 24-48 hours. Read moreI just had the best breakfast, possibly, in my entire life!! My husband and love this restaurant. I got the deviled eggs which are like Turkish shashuka but oh so better. Perfectly cooked in a skillet with spinach and mushrooms and buttery soft yolks make a delightful mouth bite! My husband got the pancakes with marscapone and they were amazing. Read moreGreat place to visit. Menu is not too big but has great selections of pasta, fish, meat, poultry and salads. Venue is clean, cozy, with outdoor and indoor seating. Service is good and waiters smile. One of my appetizers was Steak Tartar, this plate in particular has many variations and looked to me that there recipe was recreating the late Anthony Bourdain’s awesome recipe.
