Nice little Hotel on a walking Street , super clean nothing fancy but well run establishment . Hot water shower but only cold for sink , flat 32" TV Spanish channels CNN espanol y CNN Chile nice split silent air conditioner but I do not use . Interior rooms have windows facing interior air well . nice rooftop terrace for breakfast and some pictures , super friendly and helpful staff night/day shift , daytime there is Always someone cleaning either floors , rooms and equipment . Reception area has street cameras and a fridge with local Beers 24 hours( $4 soles January 2019 prices ). I love the location 7 minutes walk to plaza Mayor but daytime perfect at night 10pm + it gets sketchy area when everything is closed except for little casino bars , which attracts the crowds I prefer to avoid . Only 2 rooms have street facing windows . Lots stairs so people with mobility issues should avoid the place , because of location I recommend the place to experienced travelers or at least street smarts . I will return...
Read moreRoom is really clean and has basic amenities - shower, AC, hair dryer, mini-fridge, TV, towels, soap, spotty wi-fi. No toothpaste/toothbrush. No room service or food except breakfast time. Accepts Visa cards. Staff are friendly and polite. Reception is open 24/7. We arrived late at night after flight and was warned by our Uber driver that this area is very dangerous and we should hide our phones and be aware of robberies. The hotel has triple gates and the front desk is all bared up like a KFC in a bad neighborhood in Detroit. Nothing is open except little casinos so the very few people on the dark streets are mostly drunk and loud. I wouldn't recommend this area for a female traveler to stay at night even though it is really close to the historical attractions. Giving it a four-stars because it's not a bad option for such a cheap price and the neighborhood being unsafe is not the...
Read moreVery unsafe area for tourists when its dark. Terrible communication with travellers. If you're flying into Lima late do not book this place. Context below.
Booked this place, due to a late flight I messaged the property and ask to check in after midnight, was told this was no problem. On the way to the hotel and the hotel cancelled my booking, as I had no Internet in the taxi I did not know this until I arrived and used my taxi drivers mobile hotspot. I rang the doorbell and was refused entry while my girlfriend waited in the car. During this time a man with a knife approached me and I had to run to the taxi to get away. In the end we had nowhere to stay so we booked a 4 star hotel in a much nicer part of town called Miraflores.
I'm sure this hotel has its perks but if you're travelling as a couple or someone that wants to not have to be back before dark then I would stay...
