Northwest Inn — Hotel in Bacolod

We stayed 3 days in this small hotel. With me are my 3 kids and hubby.||The Pros: |- economical than some hotels in the area, breakfast included already|- the cleaning staff and the guard are friendly and helpful|- the front desk women and lady in charge of the restaurant are pleasing to the eyes ||The Cons:|- although they only have like 2 flights of stairs, the seniors or the sick will find it hard to climb up and down since there is no elevator or ramp that i'm aware of. Those who have ambulatory problems may request or reserve rooms on the 2nd floor but still has 1 flight of stairs to deal with|- the cutoff of breakfast is 10am and 2x we went to breakfast around 9:15 and there was practically no food on the buffet table. You have to scrape the crumbs left on the serving plates and dishes to get breakfast because they are not going to refill again coz even though you made it for breakfast before 10am, it is still almost time for the cut off. Same goes with the brewed coffee machines. On the second day I asked the lady in charge if there was still coffee on the machine. It was still 9:26 coz i looked down on my watch to note the time. She had to tilt the huge coffee container forward for the coffee to flow from it to my small cup. The coffee tasted a little bitter than usual btw. So if you are planning to stay there better have breakfast at least 1 hour and 30 mins. earlier before the 10am cutoff to ensure you get a proper and full breakfast. That's what I did on my last day there and it was also the only time I was pleasantly full. ||All in all, the place is good place to stay but just don't let yourself be late for...

I called the hotel a day before my stay to reserve me a room. The attendant confirmed my reservation. Upon arrival to the hotel, the staff informed me I don't have reservation. I insisted and even described the conversation i had with the hotel staff that took my reservation. To keep my story short, I was given a room and later learned that it was the only room left. The room was used for show room. I don't mind at all. However, the room/hotel certainly lacked amenities - no slippers, NO DRINKING WATER, no elevator, no soundproofing (you can hear clearly the conversation on the next room)! Don't get me wrong, I've stayed too many time in all sorts of hotel - budget, midrange, and luxury - I know what a budget hotel should be (go to Red Planet, it's worth it). The customer service is mediocre. Though they tried so hard to be attentive, it doesn't come naturally - they aren't really trained for customer service. And don't be tricked by their "buffet" breakfast offer, it's pretentious in a sense that they should've offered it plated and focus more on the quality of food. In short, the quality of food is way way below average. Sorry Northwest Inn, I don't normally rate "poor" even budget hotels but this one is an exemption. If you want real value for money, go to Suites at Calle Nueva or Go Hotels. You can already have a good stay for 1,200. I got a super tiny room, with a leaky toilet and black mold in the roof. I was nice and never complained about any of it and stayed two nights. A friend of our family had booked the room. I asked for laundry service and they said yes, that it would be done day after. Which is ok, when i came to check out at noon the day after, the laundry wasnt ready. They said it will be done at 4 pm, something i said would not be ok as i had checkout and asked if they can deliver it to the next place i was gonna stay at 30 mins away from the inn. They didnt deliver it as promised and instead of speaking or getting back to me, they have my number, they still spoke to the family friend that had booked the room. I called and asked, and i emailed with them. Told them talk to me, as its i that stayed and i own the clothes, still they refer to the other person. They even started claiming rudely in an email to me that they had wanted to deliver it at noon but that the guy that booked said dont deliver. Wich is a lie, as i was still in the lobby at 12.30. Basically i would not recommend this place unless you just love lies or...
