My sister in laws and I travelled to Baguio for a weekend getaway. Literally an overnight stay! We booked Hotel Vivo through Agoda (its cheaper via direct booking). I was hesitant at first because upon searching its a new hotel and there were no reviews yet. But I gave it a shot. ||The hotel is 10-15 minutes taxi ride away from the bus terminal (Victory Liner) we commuted as we heard the traffic in Baguio is crazy! When we got in the hotel we were greeted with all smiles and helpful staffs. We were given welcome drinks and I immediately checked in as we were tired and wanted to freshen up. It was a breeze checking in.||When we got inside our room located at the 4th floor we were surprised that the room is really spacious and modern. Not to mention also clean! It was cool even without the air condition turned on. But still we decided to turn on the AC for more Baguio feels. We took a rest for a while watched youtube as they have a smart TV installed in the rooms. And I called front desk to request to have the bed together as we were 3 and the bed are 2 double beds I believe. And they agreed. What off in the room is that they do not have a body mirror to check out yourself not like other hotels.||We went out after freshening up and decided to eat.. another thing we like is the hotel is near Burnham Park (for night market) around 5-10 mins walk away. Its also near GoodTaste where we ate our late lunch. We roamed around Burnham and Session road after eating and went back to the hotel to rest and prep for the night market at 9 PM. We slept and it was the best power nap as it was cold and bed and pillows were comfortable. Got up at 9PM and went out for night market.||The following morning we availed the complimentary buffet breakfast included in our reservation.. it was a bit off as when we got down there were no food left and we had to wait for 10 minutes for them to refill it as they were still cooking. Another thing is that they have small variety of food for breakfast. I also notice a Japanese national asking for food as there were no food left and the lady at the buffet was trying to speak to him in Tagalog (I think they need to train there staffs to speak in English as they are in a hotel industry). ||Oh, there wifi is pretty fast too! You won’t have any connection issues.||Overall, we had a great stay. I will be back and I still highly recommend the hotel for having friendly and courteous staffs plus having spacious and clean rooms at an affordable price. Its a new hotel that’s why they still have a room for...

CONSTRUCTIVE BUT FAIR REVIEW:
The hotel was very nice. Our room was clean and the amenities are complete. They even have free snacks, coffee and beverages (one-time provision)
The location is perfect. There is BPI, Mercury Drug and 7-Eleven nearby.
If you are not concerned with the air conditioning, you’ll be fine BUT the aircon use is NOT PART of your payment. You have to pay ₱200 in order to use it during your entire stay. It was fine for us.
The only thing we did not like is the lack of critical thinking or initiative from the staff to comprehend our requests:
There is free parking (first come-first served) and we brought a Toyota Fortuner car. We did not know that the basement parking cannot accommodate SUVs because the vertical clearance of the parking entrance was only for 6 ft so only sedans can enter. So we have to park in front of the hotel which is fine BUT majority of the guests prefer to park in front for convenience instead of the basement.
We suggested the staff if they can advise the sedan owners to park in the basement since us, SUV owners cannot park there.
They said that it is not within their policy or something like that.
I mean our concern is valid and beneficial for ALL yet they cannot adjust their customer service for the other guests. We have to wait for 20-30 minutes hoping to have a slot instead of being able to park smoothly and go back to our hotel...
Read moreStayed two nights. Hotel is in a busy road, lots of food/ restaurant options, near a pharmacy, laundry shop and convenience stores. There is a bar/disco in front of the hotel so at night time it can be a bit annoying if you are a light sleeper. If you like walking with the cold breeze then this hotel is good for you.
Staff are friendly and attentive. Check in was ok and check out was smooth.
Don’t expect much from the breakfast buffet, a bit underwelming especially if you arrived nearing end of service because you will be left with so little and they are not adamant to refill.
Room is sufficient in size, bedsheets seems clean though a bit old, towels are of poor quality hence not absorbent, thin and old too. Bathroom smells of mold and grimes on the sides of the tiles are thick and has obviously been there for some time. Under the bed there was a used slipper that was obviously missed by the cleaner and one would wonder what else did the cleaner miss that we didn’t know about 😂🥲🥲. There are free snacks which are non refillable but obviously a nice and thoughtful touch from the managment.
Overall the hotel has so much room for...
