Isaguirre's Pension House — Hotel in Baler

Exceptional staff here. From the moment you walk through the door you can see the level of care and detail the staff takes into into this place. My booking here was made last minute for 5 days, my arrival was around 12 am. The staff doesn't have 24 hour reception, but they waited up for me. I've stayed at places across the Phillipines and paid 3x as much and the level of cleanliness is subpar at best, the ac doesn't work, the bathroom is flooded slightly. Here everything works the way it should. Cold aircon, hot water, bidet toilet. There is also hot water outside the rooms for coffee. The place has a rooftop with great views of people surfing, the town, and of the mountains. Location wise, you are a very short walk from the beach and surfing, and it's quite easy to get around town with friendly trike drivers. The family that runs this place is very kind and go out of there way to make you feel like you belong. Often I would talk with the husband and he would show me the best places to eat, or tell me about the town. Him and his wife would check up on me and ask about my stay. When it came time for me to leave, the same man that waited up for me late also woke up at the early hour of 4 am to take me to the bus terminal. He also had a cute and happy dog that accompanied us. Located along d main road to the beach wt free parking Infront. We arrived around 1230 noon but was not allowed to check in even if the rooms were ready unless we pay additional p100.but they allowed us to stay on the 3rd floor terrace until check in at 2pm.rooms were neat, orderly, and clean. Big plus if they had shower water heater. Soap and shampoo were free. They had a bidet! Beach was easily accessible thru a path alongside d hotel. Staff were helpful. No available food and drinks on site.We were allowed to brew our coffee wt our own maker.wt no charge. The hotel convenience store was a big help. The rooftop terrace was the big plus. If you are looking for a clean room with a bed and shower...and NOTHING ELSE...this is for you. No fridge, no coffee pot, no view except of a barrio and distant ocean, no restaurant, no entertainment except for a TV. Even parking was shady being across the street in the neighbor's driveway with cats, dogs, chickens. To get to the beach, you walk through an alley between houses with more dogs, chickens, cats, and clothes hanging on washlines. We left... nice people, but they offered no refund.
