My overall experience is good! I'm the type of person who prefers active travelling, so the hotel is needed literally just for sleep, shower and storing stuff. My requirements for the hotel were good proximity to the city center and nice room with hot shower. Well, the location is truly good, it's a bit on the hill so to get to the city center you just need to come down. In the same building there is a great cafe DAYO who offer 10% discount per day for the Oceana Bay hotel's guests.During our trip to Philippines, Coron was the last destination and the 4th hotel we stayed at, and that was the only one with some room facilities issues. When we checked-in it turned out there is no water in the shower, the staff truly tried to be helpful, the receptionist girl offered us to stay in another upgraded room before the problem will be solved. The thing is when one day later we had to return to the room the problem with the water wasn't solved, we had to contact staff all the time which for sure was absolutely inconvenient, especially when water could be cut off during taking shower. At that point nobody cared already, there were no offers to change the room or to offer us a discount. The siphon from the sink was leaking, so every time you wash your hands, the bathroom floor is immediately in water. The AC is truly loud, but this is absolutely normal for Philippines, as well as the absence of hair dryer. Nice thing that the hotel unlimitedly provides drinking water in the hall. The hotel also offers tours, bike rent, transfer to the airport, but I'd suggest to check it out in the city first, we've found more convenient and better price...

We had a very disappointing and unsettling experience at Oceana Bay Hotel in Coron. While we were out on an island tour, someone entered our room and stole money from our belongings. When we returned, our room was clearly ransacked—cabinets wide open, baggage searched through, even the bed and washroom left in a mess. It was obvious someone had gone through our things while we were away.
What’s even more alarming is the lack of CCTV, especially in the hallways leading to the rooms. There is no way to trace who might have entered, which makes it even more unsafe. This kind of security negligence is unacceptable in any hotel.
In addition to the theft, we experienced two power outages early in the morning. There was no generator, no emergency lights, and worst of all, no staff response or solution offered when this happened. We were left in the dark—literally and figuratively.
Although the amount of money stolen wasn’t large, the experience made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. We requested to transfer to another hotel, and thankfully, the management agreed to refund us for the remaining 4 nights.
A special shoutout to Henry at the front desk—he was the only friendly and professional staff member we met. He really did his best to assist us during our short stay. Thank you, Henry.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the overall experience. The hotel is not secure, poorly managed, lacks basic safety features, and staff involvement in theft is a serious concern. We cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a very...
