In Blue Horizon Hostel, you get what you paid for. The room is clean when I arrived. But I noticed that their beddings and towels were already overly used (stains and dark spots all over). I’m not very sure how often hostels change their beddings and towels but that didn’t give me so much disappointment since I only paid 600+ for a night. The only thing I didn’t like about the place is the fact that I am not allowed to eat something inside the room. Given that Dumaguete city is under MECQ as of writing, hence most of the restaurants do not allow dine in, gave me a bit of concern because I couldnt make use of delivery services and havdto go out and search for a place to eat which could be a hassle. Other than that, the staff were very accommodating and friendly throughout my stay. Update: The staff called to inform me that they allow food inside their room regardless of the posted reminder inside the room. 😊

Looooooooved this place, found it on OYO app, and it was the only hotel on there in that location. Check-in process was easy and simple. Staffs were accommodating and friendly. I loved my room, it was very clean and spacious. The CR was soooooo clean and had a heater, which works well. Bed were very comfy and nice to sleep on. Good for budget travelers for short stay. Located at the heart of Dumaguete, where everything is literally walkable. Would definitely recommend, and would come back if I ever visit dumaguete again.

Spacious Room and the area is quite. Perfect place to relax after a day of roaming around. It's just not accessible to national highway! I need to go bus station to ride a bus to bais city (P30 fare). They're strict, no eating and drinking inside the room but I guess it's fine in the lobby.

We stayed here for two nights, booked via Agoda where we got a good rate. ||We were impressed with this place. It is clean, modern, the room was spacious and comfortable with pretty good WiFi, AC and a TV. The bathroom and hot shower were good too. We had a deluxe room and I think it is well worth paying the extra 100peso or so to upgrade from a standard room as there is quite a difference in the size and quality of the room. Our deluxe room was hotel rather than hostel quality. ||I know this because unfortunately we had to change rooms in the middle of the night. There was a completely random plumbing accident where the bathroom in the room next to ours ended up flooding their room, then our room and the whole main third floor area. It was clean water and a bit of a drama at the time, but just one of those things. The night guard picked up on it and woke us, and we asked to move rooms while he battled the water. The next day we raised the issue with the manager and ended up with a full refund of the second night, for the inconvenience and wet bags, which we aplreicated. I still give this hotel five stars because this was no one’s fault and the staff were professional and excellent. I commend the receptionist - he speaks great English and is very helpful, and the night guard for his hard work. There is a restaurant on site offering reasonably priced food.||I would certainly stay in this hotel again if I came back...

I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a hostel to stay. And speaking of hostel, I suggest to change it to Hotel. I said so because it’s equipped with the things you needed. You have privacy, the Comfort room is clean and hot & cold shower is very well functional, the bed is comfortable, you have flat screen TV, the AC is working very well and lastly, you have enough place to put on your things because each room is provided with built in cabinets. And I forgot to add, the room is tidy. Thus, “ A comfy home away from home”.|And if you’re hungry, you can find their very affordable restaurant downstairs, just adjacent to their reception area. Plus factor is theire staff, they are all well-mannered and will help you with your questions on how to stroll the city. |Speaking of the city, just ride a tricycle worth 8pesos and there you go. It’s just a 5mins-10 ride going to the famous Rizal Blvd and the restaurants just infront of it. Will be back soon. Thank you...

Our stay here was great! The rooms were very clean, had all the essentials (except dental care, which you can buy at the hotel pantry), and the aircon worked well—though the blankets were a bit thin, so it’s best to keep it on low. The working bathroom heater was a big plus. The location is also very convenient, with lots of food spots, tourist attractions, and places to chill nearby. The city is walkable, but the lack of sidewalks can make it tricky—something beyond the hotel’s control.

The staff and service really stood out. There’s 24/7 security, the front desk was friendly and accommodating, and they kept in touch with us through Facebook and Booking.com, even helping with directions and transport. My favorite feature was the unlimited hot and cold drinking water, with a pitcher in the room for easy refills—super useful for tours and long days out. Overall, this hotel offered great value, comfort, and service, and I’d happily...
