Optimum Pension House — Hotel in Dumaguete

We had our 2 nights stay there just recently. We booked a double room through their fb page, the price is affordable. The bedroom is okay, the space, the size of the bed, the clean sheets, comforter, and towels, the AC is working well and the TV. It's just that the floor under the bed is dusty and that plastic cover like a material used in a faceshield was there. They have a clean bathroom but the space is a bit small, and the shower head have discoloration in it, I don't know if it's rust or what. And I hope next time they will have a mirror in the bedroom too, coz they only have it in the bathroom.

But for us, it is okay, and we enjoyed our stay there, the location is okay, not so close to the busy road, we get there by motorcycle, you will pass residential neighborhood by getting there, maybe 18-20 meters from the natl. road. The place is peaceful and quiet and we had a smooth transaction and our room was ready as we requested. Their front desk area is tidy. I will recommend it still.

I stayed at the Optimum Pension House from.the 15th May - 23rd of May I was traveling alone . It's basic , budget friendly accommodation . for me it was ok , if your particular about things this Hotel isn't for you . The rooms are small but clean ( the bed took.up most of the space ) The bathroom was small also but there is hot water to take a shower and WiFi . I got along ok with the staff , friendly and helpful . If I was to visit Dumagarte again on a budget I'd only stay at Optimum for a night due to the size of the rooms . If you want to eat , 100 meters up the road there's many canterias , cafes , Jollibee , restaurants , etc or jump on a tricycle for 10 pesos for a trip to Robinson's Mall or many other places around Dumagarte . In the Hotel there's no tea or coffee making facilities no foods or snacks it's just a very basic...

Went here to stay for a night but decided to opt out as early as we can. The place is not just for us. ||||! Bed and pillows smells foul. Bathroom and comfort room is definitely not comfortable. ||! The room smells like it hasn’t been cleaned/occupied for a long time. ||! The water had a rusty smell. ||! The AC doesn't work. Staying in the room feels like you're inside an oven.||||After about 5 minutes of staying, we raised our concerns and asked if we could transfer to another room, and they were kind enough to let us do so. However, it seems that all rooms were the same. ||||We decided to Check-out and try other place on the same moment and asked for a refund, and thankfully they agreed!||||For those looking for a clean, decent and on “budget” pension.
