Palmera El Nido Inn — Hotel in El Nido

Despite the positive reviews we read prior to our stay, we were left feeling disappointed with our experience. In fact, we were quite surprised to read such glowing reviews, as it seems we did not have the same experience as others. One of our biggest issues was the extreme noise level in the room, which persisted throughout both the day and night. Unfortunately, the door had large gaps on the ground and sides, making it impossible to block out the noise and prevent mosquitoes from entering the room. The lack of soundproofing and the extremely loud air conditioning unit made it feel like we were trying to sleep on a busy street.

While the room was clean, we cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone who values getting a good night's rest and relaxing. Amazing stay here, we even extended our 2 nights into 5 nights as it was a brilliant price and beautiful room! So clean, comfy, quiet, fan and aircon was great, staff were lovely, so helpful and kind, they also offer tours and have breakfast available when included in your room, amazing location away from all the noise but such a quick walk to the beach and just around the corner from the main streets with all the nightlife and food! Bathroom was very spacious and has a hot shower, free water dispenser which is brilliant and had a chilled seating area with table and chairs on the balcony and downstairs! Gorgeous place just starting up and we would definitely recommend, only place we found suitable with our backpacking budget and first one we felt like it was also luxurious, bargain!...

This was not an enjoyable stay. Positives are that the staff are lovely and the hotel is close to El Nido Beach and the bar and restaurant strip. The main issue is the noise, not just from the street but more so from the air conditioner and fan (which are essential to use given the heat and humidity). I didn’t know that they could even make the level of noise they did. I ended up sleeping with noise cancelling AirPods in. The photos of the rooms online are pretty deceptive as they are quite worn.
