Embarking on a journey to El Nido, Palawan, Philippines, was truly a remarkable adventure that I am eager to share. Let me take you on a virtual tour of my trip, share some thoughts on the services I encountered, and express my personal feelings.

El Nido, with its pristine beaches and breathtaking landscapes, welcomed me with open arms. The beauty of this place is beyond words. The services provided were generally excellent. The locals were warm and friendly, always ready to help. However, there is always room for improvement. Here are some suggestions to enhance your experience:

Timing: El Nido is at its best from November to May when the weather is dry and perfect for island hopping and water activities.

Weather: Be prepared for occasional rain if you visit during the wet season (June to October).

Cost: While the overall cost is reasonable, it's a good idea to budget for island tours and meals, as prices can vary.

As for enhancing service quality, I would suggest that local businesses focus on preserving the natural beauty of El Nido. Responsible tourism is crucial to maintain the charm of this paradise. Additionally, providing information in multiple languages could be beneficial for international travelers.

In conclusion, my trip to El Nido was a dream come true. It's a destination that offers both natural beauty and warm hospitality. Whether you're an adventurer or a relaxation-seeker, El Nido has something for everyone. So, pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable experience in this...

*Sunbathe next to disgusting dog feces all over the beach. *Plastics and garbage line this beach all over. *Tons of locals driving their motorcycles fast all over running behind you. *Very dangerous low hanging wires touching your head. *Hundreds and hundreds of smokers everywhere inhaling the 2nd hand smoke. *There are no sidewalks to walk safely. You will constantly watch your back for safety. *Hundreds of stray dogs with questionable health conditions. In a typical Philippines fashion, the beach is but a narrow strip only because businesses have claimed almost all of the beach itself. I do not know how Philippine law allows a national treasure to be destroyed by businesses so close to the water itself.

Very narrow beach full of dog feces, smokers, and dangerous motorcycles..

This place has become a giant cesspool of port of docking to island hopping. There is absolutely no order but pure chaos and dirt that liters the beach.

Why people come here is beyond human comprehension. Why do people rate this 5 stars is beyond me. The locals accept this condition because Filipinos accept what's given to them and never complain, but it is definitely below world standard, and massive changes are needed if this place.

Use El Nido as a base, perhaps, but def spend your time elsewhere away. Nacpan Beach or Vanilla Beach, although they too are becoming polluted with plastics and motorcycles running you down.

So many tourists come here, yet no dollars are pumped to make it...

What visitors have to understand is that while this is a beach, it is also a point of embarkation and debarkation of mainly passenger tour boats or private boats. Local businesses as well as homes are built close to the water. Don't be misled by the main images that show clear water and golden sandy beaches. While this may have been the case many years ago, it is not so much the case nowadays. When we visited in December 2023, hardly any locals were swimming in the water, only a few idealistic tourists who weren't aware of the quality of water. It was only last year where it was discovered that the water quality of the water in the bay did not meet standard requirements because of pollution (oil spill) and water contamination (fecal coliform). So, please take that into consideration. The only good thing to do during the day at this location, is just sitting on the beach and admiring the views. There is a considerable amount of people walking along the beach so don't expect any privacy or solitude. You'll notice a community of dogs running around and sleeping in the sand, which can be quite amusing. Just keep in mind where on the beach they "do their business." At night, the local bars and restaurants come alive.

Living near the El Nido beach has been an absolute blessing. The beach itself is stunning, offering picturesque views and a serene ambiance. During the tourist season, it buzzes with activity, with visitors from all over the world adding a vibrant touch to our daily surroundings. For me, this beach is more than just a stretch of sand; it's our go-to spot for morning and evening walks with my daughter. The best part? It's free and accessible for everyone in the community. While swimming might not be ideal due to the adjacent hotels along the shore, the beauty and tranquility of the beach compensate for it. The sight of boats lined up for tours adds a unique charm to the landscape and signifies the beginning of exciting adventures exploring the nearby islands. Living near the El Nido beach isn't just about the sand and sea; it's a hub of activity, a gathering place for locals and tourists alike, and the starting point for unforgettable island hopping experiences. It's truly a gem in our neighborhood, offering relaxation, natural beauty, and a touch of adventure—all just steps away from home.
