Old is a word that jumps out at you. ||||The paint, interior design (or lack of it), tiles, and my room cabinet; they all scream old. I saw some rooms undergoing renovation. Hotel knows what’s wrong but my guess is funding may be short because no one was working when we were around.||||My room has no toilet seat. Shower head which is connected to the heater is left hanging upside down. I could see no hook with which to hang it on. Not that it matters because there wasn’t enough pressure going through that shower head. I had to use a bucket and thankfully the water was not icy cold as one would expect from any faucet, it was just right.||||Room size however was actually very good. Mine, room 607, was presented as a room for 4 persons. One bed is classified as extra as it was placed additionally on the floor. Another bed is good for 2, and the last is for 1. One of my roomies begged off the trip for health reasons so I ended up with the biggest bed which was great.||||The air-conditioning is not as quiet as you would expect if it were new but overall it was not bothersome. The lures of Ilocos Norte are kilometers apart so my guess is you’ll be too tired once you get in your hotel room. ||||One big downside is of all things the TV remote. Coming from a long road trip you’d expect to lie down immediately and scan what’s on the tube. On our first the missing remote was obvious therefore our next move was to call front desk right? Then we noticed the next thing missing the number of the front desk. Dial 0 was not working. The room phone had a menu in case you’d want a meal but someone forgot to put in the number. One my roomies had to go back down.||||Just so no one who reads this have to go down again, the number of the desk is 101.||||When he came back up he informed us of the policy, remotes will given out with a deposit of P200 which the hotel returns when remote is surrendered. It is a big hassle to be honest. You expect to go into a hotel room with all of the basics there even if it were just a free towel. The TV was there I expect like anybody I’d be able to use it at the first instance. ||||After dinner and exchange of notes with other members of our party in the other rooms it seems they had TVs with buttons on the side which I failed to find in mine. I was based on the previously mentioned points and furthermore we were on a trip willing to abandon TV but one of my roomies eventually gave in and got the remote. || ||The available breakfast in the hotel is mostly of the Silog variety. It looks like they cook early because our breakfast on a plate was served sealed and now that I think of it, the plates weren’t exactly warm. In any case I always thought the beauty of a Sinangag Itlog meal is that it leaves nothing to the imagination. I simply see it as an easy fill for my stomach and expect nothing else.||||My party of 21 was in the hotel for three days for a tour of Ilocos and I’ve heard no adverse comments over dinner. One who has similar views that I have over the remote simply reasons out that that’s what we get for the price of the hotel. I can see many comments and reviews here call it a budget hotel with a ‘but’ immediately following. ||||Over our three days the parking lot has been full. Maybe we can take that as a sigh the hotel is doing something right. It may look dilapidated but all hospitality is...
Read morePROS: Quiet Wide and nice big sized room at a reasonably affordable price. Clean toilet, beds and sheets. It's only a short walking distance to town for about 300-400m far. With a restaurant inside the hotel serving breakfast(Filipino food) Staff are very accommodating There's a 7/11 next to it, I didn't need to worry to buy some groceries. 😃
CONS: Though it's a big room, they haven't provided a table and chairs for the guests to eat meals inside. There were some mosquitoes. To the management, please close the windows after you clean the room and put some mosquito spray, they're hiding specifically at the curtain. No WiFi repeaters so don't expect to have a connection in the rooms, only at the lobby.
Overall, I had a good stay here and will definitely recommend it...
Read moreOne of the largest rooms we got within 2 months of traveling through the Philippines. We arrived by bus from Vigan City and they dropped us off just in front of the hotel. Very friendly staff, tiled clean rooms with a spacious bathroom. Two rails to hang your clothes, corner room 512 had a nice view and there is a 7-eleven next door. Water pressure is good and they have a bucket if you don’t mind cooler water. Cotton towels and sheets (slightly stained though). A restaurant on the ground floor - if you are tired of fried food you can also get some California Rolls at Hotchick Sushi 5 mins walk. TV, A/C and proper Wifi. Tricycle to the airport of...
