First of all, this hotel has an excellent location, near the center of town (where all the places of interest are located). My wife likes to go to mass every day and it is only a few minutes walk from the Cathedral. And Jollibee was a short walk up the street, where we had breakfast every day (and this is open 24 hours). This hotel has inexpensive, okay rooms, not luxurious, but okay.|| On the other had we had some serious problems. I am partly disabled and when I reserved a room there I asked for a first-floor room. Two days before my arrival, I also telephoned the hotel to ask if I could have a first floor room, and they reassured me that I would have a room on the first floor. But when my wife and I arrived, I was told they have no first floor rooms. (Luckily, I could still go up their stairs.)|| I also asked to be picked up at the airport when I arrived. I called several days before our arrival to ask them to send their car there for us, and the woman answering the phone said their car would pick us up at the airport. But when we arrived at the airport, we looked and looked, but there was no car from the hotel there for us. This could have been a catastrophe. The airport is in a rural area, eight kilometers from Laoag. There are no taxis in the whole Laoag area. The tricycles are too small for me to fit in (and in fact I didn't see any there). A guard kindly looked for a car for us, but there was none. What could we do? Finally, by the grace of God, I spotted a mini-taxi, of which there are less than half-a-dozen in the whole Laoag region, who took us to our hotel. (In fact, this mini-taxi took us all over the province in the following days). When I said to the woman at the hotel that there was no car from the hotel for us at the airport, she just said she...
Read moreIt's a no-frills hotel, so I wasn't expecting much from the room. That being said, we weren't expecting much. It's fairly clean, beds were a bit on the firm side which I didn't mind. AC was very loud, all throughout, we had it checked but to no avail. We were also bothered that someone tried to get into our room, which turned out to be someone from the reception area who wanted to clarify something about our booking. The least he could've done was knocked.||||The lock at our shower was missing, so we improvised with a haripin. Toilet space was very cramped as it was lodged next to the shower stall. Water temperature settings were set up incorrectly (turn left for cold, right for hot), and was very temperamental. Scalding hot one minute, then suddenly cold the next, without turning the knob. Water pressure was good though.||||Breakfast was also confusing. There was a diner connected to the hotel, front desk would just indicate that the free breakfast is there. Once there, and after ordering and eating, we were asked to pay. It was settled quickly enough when we mentioned that we were hotel guests, but the whole process can be improved next time.||||On a plus side, they did lend us an umbrella when we had to go out and it was raining outside. Overall, it's not entirely bad, but we'd likely skip this hotel the next time...
