Lack of signage may fool you , check photos for details. Location on the gmaps is accurate. I had a good experience with a checkin, toilet shared with shower was clean. At the time of staying owner advised there is no hot water but don’t sweat, water is not cold , it is actually nicely refreshing. Slightly squeaky bed could use some maintenance but mattress was comfortable and would feel 195 (6’4) tall person no problem. There is very efficient AC in the room and relatively quiet fan so your sleep won’t be interrupted. Checkin was very easy and so was checkout. Outdoor area with a bar and colourful birds is great to relax as well. Check out photos for more details on location and interior.

Etwas fühlt sich an diesem Ort nicht richtig an, so dass ich eine Warnung an andere Traveler aussprechen möchte. Ich vermute stark, dass die vielen positiven Bewertungen hier gekauft wurden, was dazu führt, dassder ein oder andere Traveler hier auch aufschlägt… Die Dorms sind sehr klein, und es fehlt quasi an allem Komfort, Sauberkeit, einer warmen Decke für die Nacht, Platz fürs Gepäck, Bettvorhängen. Die Rezeption ist nur sporadisch besetzt, wofür ich noch irgendwo Verständnis aufbringen würde. Aber die beiden Bäder waren widerlich dreckig, obwohl ich da einiges vertragen kann und auch schon einiges gesehen habe. Während meines 3-tägigen Aufenthalts habe ich weder eine Putzkraft gesehen, noch irgendjemanden der sich ernsthaft um Anliegen von Gästen kümmert. Es gab Probleme mit den Duschen (Abfluss und Wasserdruck) und eine Toilettenspülung funktionierte nicht, daher roch es in beiden Bädern wie in einer Bahnhofstoilette. Immerhin funktionierte das W-Lan einigermaßen, und die Lage ist praktisch, nicht zu weit weg von allem (Intramuros, Poblacion, Busdepots Buendia usw). Vom Frühstück bekam ich Bauchschmerzen (da bin ich auch einiges gewohnt), so dass ich es ansprach und das Frühstück an den nächsten beiden Tagen stornierte. Einen Refund dafür gab es auch auf Nachfrage nicht. Ich rate daher von dieser Unterkunft unbedingt ab, für 3-4€ mehr pro Nacht gibt es andernorts deutlich Besseres. Ich sah hier auch ein paar alleinreisende und in Gruppen reisenden Frauen, welche aufgrund der Dorm-Situation (viele Männer und 2-3 Filipinos, die im Hostel wohl schon länger „wohnten“), der fehlenden Hygiene und des seltsamen Vibes hier nach einer Nacht wieder...

I spent my last night in the Philippines in this hostel and what can I say... the owners are so warm. We sat together on the beautiful roof terrace in the evening. They gave me tips how to get to the metro the fastest way to get to Intramuros. The owner has a great taste in music, which she played when we spent the evening together. :) The beds are comfortable, the shower is clean, the location is perfect.
