I recently stayed at Abraham Bohol Resort, and unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the expectations set by the resort’s photos and previous reviews.
Location and Ambiance: The resort itself is in a decent location, but it appears much more run down than the pictures suggest. The property needs a lot of upkeep, and it doesn’t seem to be getting the attention it deserves.
Service: While the staff tried to be helpful, my experience with service was disappointing. The Wi-Fi was completely unreliable—it would cut off constantly, and we were unable to stay connected at all during our stay. Since there was no Wi-Fi in the room, we had to walk all the way to the front desk to report other issues, which was quite inconvenient.
Accommodation: The rooms were basic and didn’t match what was advertised. I encountered a serious issue when the water stopped working during a shower. After calling maintenance, the problem was eventually resolved, but it was another reminder of the lack of attention to detail.
Pool: The pool area was a major disappointment, particularly the kiddie pool. The tiles were coming off, and there were sharp edges that made it unsafe for children. Even though the resort has other pools, the condition of the kiddie pool should have been addressed to ensure the safety of all guests, especially families.
Final Thoughts: Unfortunately, the resort didn’t live up to the hype. The lack of working Wi-Fi, unreliable water supply, and the unsafe pool conditions made my stay less than enjoyable. I think there’s a lot of potential, but without proper maintenance and improved customer service, I would not recommend it to others. The only positive aspect was the security guard, who was friendly and helpful.
For anyone considering a stay, I’d suggest doing more research and being prepared for issues with the facilities. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
Response to Manager:
Thank you for your response, Rachel, and for acknowledging my feedback. While I appreciate that your team assisted with the Wi-Fi issue, the connection remained unreliable throughout my stay, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the resort. The inconvenience of having to walk to the front desk to report issues due to the lack of Wi-Fi was frustrating and not ideal for guests.
I understand that there is ongoing maintenance work for the kiddie pool, but I was concerned by the condition of the pool—sharp tiles and areas in disrepair make it unsafe for children. Although there are other pools available, I believe the kiddie pool should have been closed until the necessary repairs were made for safety reasons.
Additionally, the issue with the water supply cutting off while I was in the shower was another problem that required maintenance intervention, further highlighting the lack of upkeep.
I truly hope the resort can address these issues in the future to improve the guest experience. Despite the beautiful location, the lack of consistent service, maintenance, and amenities made my stay disappointing. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I will not be returning.
Thank you again for your response, and I hope the resort improves these aspects...

Read moreBooked a private room last second because my other reasonably priced accommodation was terrible and I figured if I threw money at the problem I’d have a nice room for two nights for my girlfriend and I. But boy was I wrong! I spent ₽19,000 (it was a holiday time period) for a potato.
The room itself was pretty good. Clean, working AC. However, the hot water didn’t work at all the first day and after 5 requests for someone to come look at it and no one ever came, it finally put out lukewarm water on day two. In addition the toilet kept not functioning correctly and didn’t seem to work while you spent the 15 minute requirement to get the lukewarm water in the shower to get to your room.
Oh, don’t let me forget why I am giving this a 1/5! Not only did the water not get hot but one of the staff members was mocking the guests with a coworker “oh the water isn’t hot wah wah wah!” that really angered me. I paid a stupid price for the room, you can at least provide hot water for a shower.
The only amenity in the room is a nice (looking) TV and it didn’t work. After lots of tinkering the staff pulled the TV and swapped it with another room. Basically they have 4 rooms with TVs as far as I could tell and only 3 work and they keep moving them around instead of buying a new one.
Then the internet is worthless in the rooms area. Seems to work okay in the reception and breakfast area, but even with a strong signal it was worthless in the room. Really sucked for my partner who works remotely and needed to use her phone data instead.
There is no cold water for drinking available on the premises as far as I could tell because all the machines dispensed air temperature water.
The breakfast was also not great. If it was just for a hostel guest it’s okay, but for the outrageous price we paid for the room, it’s powdered eggs and powdered coffee and pretty bland in general.
So I guess that’s the end of my rant. If the room was priced appropriately for the rates other places charge for a similarly mediocre experience, I would say it was perfectly fine, but for this price in the Philippines I’m...
