We stayed one night at this hotel and surely this is not enough to get a full experience, there were a few occurrences which made me give a rating anyways. First off the hotel has a nice atmosphere, the rooms are well designed and modern looking. There is a big pool area which did not feel crowded even though the hotel was almost fully booked. The place looks well maintained and clean. The staff is mostly helpful and friendly.
Now the downsides why I only gave 3 stars: First, while we checked in we learned that the right side of the resort was off limits for normal guests as there was a wedding reception. I am not sure if this area is generally accessible by "normal" guests or only for the ones which booked a villa however the place is advertised with the whole pool area which spans across all of the resort.
Second: The only accessible pool is only about 4 feet deep. There appears to be a deeper pool but this seems to be off limits as indicated by a sign.
Third: We decided to have our dinner at the Bridge Bar which looks nice. As we were ready to order one of the employees approached us and told us about the steakgrill bar in retrospect we guessed this was a warning we should rather go there. However as we had a vegetarian in our group we did not follow this hint but went ahead and ordered. First issue one of few (maybe 3) vegetarian dishes was not available with the explanation that the ingredients was hard to get (Maybe change the menu then?). All our orders reached the table at different times ranging from about 15 minutes to over 1 hour. One of our group who ordered an appetizer and a main course received both at the same time, after everybody else was finished eating. We learned that they were short staffed and that was the reason for the delays. When it came to pay we asked to split the bill 4 ways, it felt like this took an eternity as 3 staff members gathered around the register to figure out how to do this. The food was okay but considering the price it should have been superb. For example a coke zero was priced at 160 peso which is about 110 peso more than anywhere else were I dinned in PH. Granted, those were not 5 Star Hotels, but this was also not 5 Star service.
Fourth: The breakfast buffet, while the selection is not bad and the served food is good, if I compare it to 4 star hotels in Cebu City which is just 2 1/2 hour travel away like the Waterfront or Marco Polo it cannot compete. Sure it is on a different island but considering the exclusivity which is claimed here I would expect more.
Fifth: I was instructed by the front desk that checkout time is 12 noon however when we tried to get into our room at 11:35 AM both our keycards did not work anymore. The cleaning staff told us that is because checkout time is 11 AM, they let us in our room and at checkout the reception desk did not mention anything. Lastly: There is no shuttle transport to Tagbilaran, the transport is 700 peso which is hefty if you consider for that amount you can ride in a taxi hours.
I was hesitant to write this review because as I learned our friends who stayed longer told their experiences to a manager who tried to compensate for them and he apologized. However this does not change what we experienced. We actually considered to extend for another night but the only available room was about 14 000 peso which was totally not worth the provided service.
I learned that the offered tours, especially the snorkeling with the turtles is worthwhile however the prices there are also...

Our venue coordinator, Ma'am Pearl, was very responsive all throughout. From planning, ocular visits, food tasting, and even on the wedding day itself, she travelled all the way from Cebu to make sure everything has been taken care of.
Our villa host, Darel, gave us lots of pointers, tips, and suggestions on what villa and suites to book. He even suggested some places wherein we can take good photos. He also made sure to inform Ma'am Pearl what we have discussed during our ocular visits.
Darel was definitely one call away. We were having trouble finding someone to help us clean and prepare our bridal car but Darel took care of it for us. He definitely took the burden to detail and clean our bridal car, and he even perfumed it with their signature scent.
The check - in and check - out process was smooth. All our guests really had a wonderful stay. Everyone was very attentive and ready to help. Even our outside suppliers were very thankful on how helpful the Be Grand Resort Bohol staff were.
The "Prep Room" was more than enough. It was spacious, well lit, and air conditioned. Tables and chairs were prepared for everyone. They even made the extra effort to put water and juice for everyone's consumption.
The food was perfect! :) They even surprised us with the elegant "waiter's parade" which made our wedding grander! :) To say that the food was over-flowing is an understatement. They surely prepared extra food for everyone. All our suggestions and changes to the menu were all accounted for.
Sir Reynold and Sir Kevin made sure that me and my wife had a drink on hand, and something to eat when we got back on our table. We really appreciated how hands on they were on making sure everyone of our guests had a wonderful experience.
It was really nice to see several staffs from our suppliers and be grand working hand in hand, in full coordination :) The resort staff proactively took orders from each table, gave them to our mobile bar, and once the orders were ready, they served them on their behalf. They also helped serve around wine during our toasts and speeches.
Be Grand Resort Bohol focuses on the experience. Everyone went out and about to make sure that everything was taken care of and everyone was having fun. No one disturbed us during the event saying that our time's almost up or if we want to extend, do we want to order any additional stuff, or if we may have reach a certain quota or something. They are really on their way to becoming the best events venue in Bohol.
During egress, they proactively packed everything up. Sir Reynold once again reached out to me and said "Do not worry Sir, we will pack everything up, put in in our chiller, and just get it the next day. We won't put it in your room because maybe it will get spoiled, go on, enjoy your wedding and just let us know who will get it tomorrow".
I can still go on but I would love to leave them to my wife :)
Thank you BE Grand Resort Bohol for making our dream wedding come true! We truly appreciate everything! It has been almost a week and all we heard are all positive! :)
Thank you...
Read moreA grand resort vacation indeed! My family had a memorable three days-two nights at one of their 19 exclusive and luxurious residential type villas. Four of us siblings stayed at the grand villa while my brother and his wife stayed at the dream villa, just across the man made lagoon from us. These lagoons surround all the villas. Each villa had high standard furnishings, and a terrace that leads to a lagoon. Our Grand Villa had two bedrooms, one with a king bed downstairs and two twin beds upstairs, each with a huge well-appointed bathrooms, and a large family room and a kitchenette complete with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, plates and utensils. Just as soon as we were settled in, after check-in, fresh juice in a real coconut along with a welcome platter of snacks was delivered to our respective villas. Snack plates were delivered to us every day. The entire resort is surrounded with lush vegetation, lots of flowers and remarkable landscaping. We had lunch at one of their five restaurants, this one with a cozy ambiance just a short walk from our villas with views of larger pools and the ocean. Lunch consisted of traditional Filipino dishes which were not only well presented but were delicious as expected of a top rated resort as well. The room service dinner we had was no different. We then explored the scenic white sand beach with a great view of the ocean. I actually spent some alone time in one of the many lounge chairs under the trees. Just like BE resort in Mactan, Cebu, the best feature of this resort are the tireless, friendliest, professional, helpful and most efficient people that worked there, specially the resort manager, Pearl Yang and staff member Uriel and others who we were lucky enough to be attended too, or who gave us a friendly hi. Thank you for pampering us!. We never had to wait long for anything we requested. I had high expectations when we planned this trip, and BE Grand resort not only surpassed all of them, we got more: we were treated...
