Tourist Trap!!! I don’t know how this place got so many high reviews! They must have ran a promotion for fake reviews. The high ratings completely fooled me and I let my guard down. The reality is the opposite from the highly praised reviews and foodie pictures. The conditions the crabs are living under is very (sad) harsh and dry (no oxygenated water tanks), which makes the crab meat also extremely dry and chewy- even the eggs! Half of the crabs were either in an open top glass containers or black crates exposed to the hot weather. Suffering as they slowly die off of heat and thirst before getting cooked. The cooking method is also poorly executed. They deep fry the crab and prawns to a point of no moisture and strips away any possibility of juicy delicate meats. My 6 year old daughter got the garlic butter prawns and barely touched it because it was so tough for her to bite into even with all the shells peeled. This is by far the worst crab and prawns I’ve ever had- in the world. I’m from Southeast Asia and I love seafood. I had a lot of crab and prawn in my life and this was the biggest let down. The pricing is also a huge rip off ontop of the terrible food. We got a weighted 900 gram crab and was charged over 4,000 pesos for it. There was more shell than meat for the crab. We also got two rice dishes and they were both disappointing. The “prawn” rice which two waitress told us there will be prawn in it came out with nonexistent prawn meat or taste. It should have been called vegetable rice instead. The garlic rice came out cold and we had to ask them twice to make it hot. We also felt discriminated because we were not Korean tourists. There was a Korean couple who came in after us and they had a waiter crack the crab for them. We were never even offered that service! We had to crack our own crab and had to ask for a crab cracker tool halfway through the meal because of course we weren’t given any! I ended up getting a cut in my thumb from cracking my own crab. If you want to leave hungry, be discriminated if you are not Korean, get ripped off, and eat dry/crusty no meat crab, this is the place for you!
This restaurant is a disgrace to Bohol seafood industry. On second thought, maybe the crabs aren’t even locally sourced. It’s all a scam, so watch out, you’ve been fairly warned- please learn from our...
Read moreOne of the best crabs I’ve ever eaten in my life, and I have eaten a LOT in my lifetime! Plus, the service was excellent!
Came here on a busy Sunday evening and all the tables were packed. Even so, I was able to get a table after 30 minutes. Whilst waiting, they asked me to select my crab from the fish tank and my sauce of choice - I chose the spicy Singaporean sauce but in hindsight, I should have gotten the plain spicy crab sauce as I one I chose was a bit too sweet for me. But the crab was very meaty, juicy and perfectly cooked! The staff were amazing too - they were very efficient and constantly checking up on you to see if you needed anything else. This place seems to be popular amongst Korean tourists and the owners appear to be Korean too. They were in the restaurant working with the staff to make sure everything was going fine. Post meal, they told me that they offer free tricycle drop-offs to customers within a 2 km radius. I didn’t use that service but appreciated them telling me about it even though they were about to leave the restaurant during their shift.
One thing to note is that they only accept cash, no cards, which is a bit troublesome because the crabs aren’t exactly cheap and so you have to have a bit on you (but still definitely worth is!!) A fantastic place and one I would travel all the way to Bohol for just...
Read moreThis restaurant is running an event where they provide services to those who leave good reviews. Because of this, despite the fantastic food, the ratings are relatively low. Please take this into consideration when visiting. It was extremely satisfying for me, as someone who follows a low-sodium diet. I highly recommend it for those who extremely dislike salt. They cook crab in a well-done style, removing unnecessary saltiness and the flavor and juices, allowing you to enjoy the hard shell of the crab itself. Despite the unique and superb cooking method, I am not fond of eating the shell and was only used to eating the salty flesh of typical crabs, which left me feeling perplexed and I inevitably had to leave. Now, two months later, I regret my narrow-mindedness for not being able to enjoy this...
