10/10 Dive Holiday — Absolutely Perfect in Every Way!

We stayed 4 nights at Moana Resort and dived with Haka Dive Centre in March 2025 — honestly, it was the PERFECT dive holiday.

From the start, Haka’s admin team stood out — super helpful, responsive, and genuinely went the extra mile to answer all our questions and help us plan the best itinerary. Their professionalism and warmth were a big part of why we chose Haka in the first place, and we’re so glad we did! 👉 They have a truly powerful team, especially the incredible admin staff at reception, who made every step easy and stress-free.

The Moana Resort + Haka Dive Centre complex looks fresh, clean, and really well-maintained. The chill holiday vibes, the small-scale setup (only 8 rooms!), and the dive centre located right beside the resort made it such a treat to stroll just a few steps back to our room and rinse off the sea salt straight away — a real luxury after a long day of diving. Pro tip: Book your room early — we made the mistake of waiting too long and had to change hotels because it was fully booked!

Our room was spacious, spotless, had strong A/C (essential!), and came with a private balcony — perfect for drying towels and gear after diving. Daily cleaning was a plus, and the staff were always friendly and attentive throughout our stay.

Scuba diving was an absolute dream. I did my PADI Advanced Open Water course with instructor Andrei, who was skilled, professional, and incredibly intuitive. He helped me gradually build up the key skills needed for more confident and enjoyable diving, and his calm encouragement made a huge difference to my overall experience.

The dive logistics were smooth and thoughtful — Haka helped us tailor our dive schedule around the weather and availability (especially for Balicasag, which isn’t done daily). The boat crew and dive masters were amazing — warm, helpful, and super efficient. They prepped and carried our gear, and even served water, tea, coffee, fresh fruit, and the best banana bread after dives. One of the highlights? A surprise encounter with a huge pod of dolphins swimming alongside our boat — and the crew slowed down just so we could soak in the magical moment. 🐬

Underwater, the biodiversity and water quality were excellent, with a great mix of macro life and vibrant reef fish. Every dive was enjoyable, safe, and well guided.

All in all, we can't recommend Moana Resort and Haka Dive Centre enough — everything was smooth, personal, and thoughtfully done. We're already dreaming of our return trip. Hopefully sooner rather than later!...

If you're on the fence about this place, don't be. This is easily one of the best places to stay in Panglao. The rooms are super clean and you can tell they really put a lot of thought into the design to give it that modern/luxurious feel.

The staff were super friendly and willing to help with organizing tours etc. They cleaned the rooms frequently and as often as I requested.

The location is really nice because it's only a 5 minute ride from Alona beach but far enough away from all the chaos/noise. The area is super safe and the locals are extremely friendly. It's close to a variety of nice restaurant's including Kamaya, The Guitar House, Earth, Salt & Sky Rooftop bar/restaurant to name a few.

The brand new restaurant on site named Kamaya was so good that I had to try everything on the menu. It also made life easy because I didn't have to go looking for food every day if I was feeling lazy. There's also a steady flow of people all day so you know the food is fresh.

If you're into scuba diving there's also a dive shop on site which is the highest rated shop in Panglao. I recently finished my dive master course there and it's a well oiled machine. Top notch equipment and...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Moana in Panglao, Bohol, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The resort perfectly captures the island vibe, offering a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere.

The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring the island. Room cleaning was done promptly and efficiently, with attention to detail that really stood out. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond to ensure guests had a pleasant stay.

The resort’s restaurant was another highlight of my visit. The food options were excellent, with a wide variety of dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal was a treat. Their coffee was also top-notch—perfect for starting the day or enjoying a relaxing afternoon.

Overall, Moana is a gem in Panglao. It’s the ideal place for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway with all the comforts of home and more. I can’t wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone...
