Seamless check-in particularly due to the accommodating and efficient Angeli of front desk. We got a room offering a fantastic view of the beach/sea. Although the hotel is far from Alona beach and the main strip (about 10 minutes tricycle ride and 15 min ride to Moadto strip) they have shuttles scheduled to bring you to Alona beach. Unlike Bluewater Panglao, Solea Coast Resort has a 'swimmable' beach with white sand. Lounge chairs and tables are scattered in front of the beach affording exclusivity to the place. A lot of sea grass though under the water but soft to the feet and not 'pebbly', you'll be 100 meters from the shore and water will only be still up to your waist! Wait for the high tide if you want to swim in the deep. A lot of bancas are scattered and moored at the beach. The hotel resort is fairly new, amenities are okay, lots of tv channels, buffet breakfast has a variety (they have an accessible espresso machine!), there's a gym and private function area as well. Water dispenser available at each floor so that was a plus, besides, they replenish the 2 complementary bottled water everyday. Soundproofing is a bit of a problem though, there's a small space below the door and you can hear slamming of doors and noises of guests coming in at night. Welcome drinks can be availed anytime at the poolside bar, 2k per night deposit was requisite but they were okay with the 4k we gave for the 4D3N we stayed. I advise you to rent a motorcycle, it'll make your traveling around Panglao and tourist spots in Bohol convenient and very economical indeed (for as low as P350/day, you just need to present an id, they'll deliver and collect the motorcycle at your hotel, gas loaded and you just need to fill it up full-tank again before returning). The road leading to the hotel is too dark at night, and there's a lot of wooden shacks, houses, and sari-sari stores lining the street, so be careful not to crash into pedestrians...
Read moreSeven of us, all hailing from Bangladesh, had a three-day stay at Solea Resort and Hotel in Bohol, commencing on September 21st. Our visit was official in nature, as we were accompanied by the esteemed Governor of Bohol Mr. Erico Aris Aumentado. During this visit, I had the privilege of receiving a gift from the governor intended for my German boss, which I later brought back to Solea Resort.|However, on the morning of the 23rd, as I was preparing to check out of the hotel and packing my belongings, I made a distressing discovery. Two bottles of wine had mysteriously vanished from my room. Swiftly, I reported the incident to the front desk and the duty manager. They promptly conducted a thorough investigation, which included reviewing the CCTV footage, examining my room, and inspecting my luggage. Their scrutiny revealed that, apart from carrying an umbrella once, I had never taken anything from the room.|Throughout my stay, my room was diligently cleaned every day by the hotel's cleaning staff, whom we were familiar with. This made the disappearance of the wine bottles all the more baffling. After three days of inquiries and discussions, I decided to approach the duty manager once more today. To my astonishment, he mentioned that they had seen me carrying bottles on the 22nd at the lodge, as per a WhatsApp chat he provided as evidence. However, when I challenged this assertion, he swiftly retracted his statement, admitting it was a mistake.|In light of this unsettling experience, I feel compelled to caution fellow travellers about the security of their belongings while staying...
Read moreSolea is a breath of fresh air - among all hotels we have stayed here in the Philippines, this is the only hotel that gave us a good room with a view. We can enjoy sun bathing outside our balcony, and soaking in the beautiful ocean view! We love waking up in the morning with it, and because of this we extended our stay for another week. ||The staff are lovely and polite. The facility is clean, pool is beautiful and breakfast food is always amazing!!!||Yes, this is a however. ||However, there are a few little things that do matter that they - not failed - but they do need to improve- first, their menus is very limited. It would be good if they offer grilled food as they are on the beach. The smell of grilled food would definitely tantalise guests to eat! Second, it is a minor detail but they do provide coffee sachets but not teas in the room. They do sell teas for PHP175. ||Third, the bucket of ice is not free, they charge it for PHP 60 (this is the first hotel that charges a bucket of ice) . There must be an explanation, but it seems like every little thing has to be charged.||Fourth, mo credit card facilities- everything has to be paid in cash. Even the deposit, which is a bit of an inconvenience. Even though it is still a new hotel, credit card facilities should be a priority before opening. Not all guests carry cash with them.||Despite all these little things, we are still coming back here. We love our room, it is a good reason enough to come back and enjoy...
