Lola Itang is attractively laid out, well located in a quiet area with good aircon and is inexpensive. There are however a few downsides.||I got the impression that it seems to be run for the convenience of the staff rather than the guests. The breakfast starts at 6.30 am and stops as early as 8 am. The breakfast choice is somewhat limited with tea, coffee and water the only drink offerings: the omelette with toast was for us the best option, my wife’s choice was supposed to be accompanied with butter and jam, but the butter was forgotten some mornings and the jam entirely failed to make an appearance at all. On our final morning the teabag box was empty. I put it on the front desk but it was not replaced. Chairs in the breakfast area were covered in dust.||The sign on the bedroom wall said that rooms would be made up daily, but during our six night stay ours wasn’t done at all. It also instructed us when going out of the hotel to leave the door key with the door number emblazoned on it upon a tray on the counter of the sometimes unoccupied front desk in full view of passers by, thus helpfully informing them which rooms were temporarily unoccupied and providing them with access. This instruction we cheerfully ignored in the interests of security as there is no room safe and naturally the notice also informed us that the management would not be held responsible for any thefts from the room. Also on the wall, Christian symbols and quotations, an unwelcome and presumptuous intrusion. No kettle in the room, but drinking water provided by jug ostensibly to avoid the use of plastic bottles. ||Postscript: one morning at 5 am there was someone pounding on our door. I thought that the building must be on fire, but it was a taxi driver working his way down the corridor in search of someone who had booked an early ride to the airport. That this intrusion was permitted is a perfect illustration of the current ethos of this establishment. The management needs...
Read moreI stayed here last week with my mum and we had a room for two with a single bed and a double bed. It was pretty comfortable and ac worked well. Most importantly there was hot water! Breakfast was included and free tea coffee and water available. The lady at front desk, maybe she was the main receptionist or manager, she was very helpful with lots of info on the local tours and local area. They can arrange the tours to see the fireflys And to visit Honda bay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we found this because we stayed at their sister hotel in elnido.
Tips - if you visit Honda bay you can do it yourself, the Jeepney is just on the main road one minute from this hotel, it costs 27 peso to the Honda bay Santa Lourdes but takes Neely an HR. We then rented a boat ourself there at the port for 1500. Entrance fees vary for the Ispands but most are 50-100 per person, pandan Was 1000 per person but very good beach, pretty, nice facilities and excellent buffet included. It was cheaper than the tours but required a little effort to get to! Fireflys you can also visit yourself, take tricycle to iwahig river cost 700peso return and book boat yourself for 900peso for up to three people so this was much cheaper.
The hotel works with a reputable travrl company so you will still have a good time should you choose those, we did their tours in El nido.
Nearby to the hotel you will find on Rizal street mister donut, about five to ten mins away is McDonald's, jolibee which we didn't visit but good to know they're nearby options chowking is also there and is a good budget fast food chain that does excellent Chinese food, we went several times while staying...
