I had high hopes when I flew into Puerto Princesa last Aug. 2 because I was booked into the Paboreal Boutique Hotel rated Excellent by Trip Advisor.||||But when we turned into a dirt and deserted road, I thought, "Oh, oh," this does not look good. Things got worse when I went into my room and saw untiled floors. ||||At first encounter, Paboreal is a mess. There is no sign of it being a boutique and I thought it could be anything but Excellent.||||When I simmered down and looked around, I realized it does merit the title. It also made me realize that there are things worth commending than shiny floors, and beautiful front desk girls, or a stately concierge.||||Paboreal has none of those. But it has a lot to make up for these shortcomings.||||For one, Paboreal is located far away from the maddening crowd and noise. It is so peaceful, quiet and serene, it brings you closer to your soul. It makes you find yourself. It is surrounded by lush greenery, the early-morning stillness broken only by the beautiful bird songs.||||The hotel's staff are ordinary people with extraordinary kindness, politeness and sincere desire to serve its guests. They make you feel at home even if you are away from home.||||The hotel exudes the warm friendliness of the owner, Enrico Coco, a French/Italian expatriate.||||I've stayed in a lot of hotels and resorts in my life - big and small, high end and low end, but they never made me feel sad upon leaving. ||||Paboreal Boutique Hotel has a certain aura that cannot be found in others. And this makes up for all the little "eyesores," that I saw when I checked in.||||I checked in with a heavy heart, I checked out sad that...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights to do the underground river tour and to be close to the airport for our flight back up to Manila and we couldn't have had a nicer stay. Enrico, the owner, will do anything to make your stay as perfect as possible. The hotel is small but secure, quiet and clean. The rooms are spacious with a huge comfy bed and clean bathroom and porch area. The hotel serves a delicious breakfast every morning and arranges all tricycles to local restaurants or the airport, and any tours for you that you need. There is a lovely pool we didn't get the chance to use but the setting of the hotel is very private and quiet, perfect for families or couples. Enrico came over to us several times to check we were enjoying our stay and one evening when we were tired and looking for some quick food at 8.50pm (the kitchen closes at 9pm), he personally went into the kitchen to make us Ham and cheese toasties and chips! All of the staff are so polite and want to make your stay as special as possible, we could not recommend this hotel enough. Thank you to Enrico and the team for all of your help throughout...
Read moreBig spacious room👍🏽, two queen beds👍🏽 with mattress soft like sleeping on water👍🏽, balcony opens to pool👍🏽 which is shaped like a piano👍🏽, quaint little hotel👍🏽, super excellent staff specially Seth who took care of every of our town restaurant reservations/trishaw call/transfers👍🏽, smiling staff all👍🏽, neat shower and toilet👍🏽, both being separate helped us lot when it's family travelling👍🏽, Staff very flexible to tour bookings and last min cancellations - my family opted out last min of underground river tour - but they changed without any complaints 👍🏽, 5mins away from airport👍🏽 Bfast is basic
Areas of improvement - the hotel is located off the town hence own restaurant should be loaded with food options which wasn't the case - barely 4-5 dishes available for lunch / dinner. Wifi could be better. Airport pickup was 5min late, we kept finding signboard for long.
